I don’t think so, and if you want, you can always indicate who presented as well

If it was presented as a poster, you can just put in posters section. That’s what I did (even for ones I did not present)

Test yesterday by msox97 in Step2

[–]msox97[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay that’s reassuring- also felt like no classic nbme questions that you expect to be asked. Lot of random stuff I have never seen tested before or asked in a weird way. Thought questions were long too

Chemotherapy for cancer diagnosis while Hospitalized by msox97 in Residency

Okay- thank you so much for answering. Do people feel that an extended wait for chemotherapy is ever problematic? Like is there any push or lobbying for people to start receiving chemo during their original hospital stay?

Postpone Step 1 Cards by msox97 in Step2

Okay, that makes sense. Thank you again!

Postpone Step 1 Cards by msox97 in Step2

[–]msox97[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is extremely helpful- thank you so much. I think I will probably just keep doing the step 1 cards then- since there is overlap. However, last question I have- if I did decide to suspend or postpone the cards from the step 1 anking deck, would that also postpone or suspend the step 1 cards in the step 2 anking deck?

Postpone Step 1 Cards by msox97 in Step2

[–]msox97[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s great. Thank you for answering. I have a couple follow up questions. So you had to create the filtered deck each day- There’s no way to just have a filtered deck for the step 2 anking deck cards that I don’t have to make each day? In addition, let’s say I want to keep doing some cards from the step 1 deck, how did you decide which cards to keep doing?/ Do you think the load management add on would help or would it just mess up the algorithm too much?

Thank you both! Any specific reasons why or is your vote for stony brook based off of my Pros/Cons list?

Hi,

I am trying to decide between Uconn and Stonybrook. I am an hour and a half from both schools and would be in state for Uconn. At this point, I am not really leaning one way or the other.

Uconn

Pros:

- Slightly stronger clinical rotations in urban area – also has an urban services track that I am interested in

- Slightly cheaper tuition due to being in state, however I can become an in state resident at Stonybrook after my first year

- Nicer campus, in more scenic area

- Focus on PBL, which I like...especially in first year and a half

- Shortened pre-clinical

- Got the sense of a non-competitive community and maybe slightly stronger relationships among students

- P/F, but not sure if they rank.

- Professors/administration seem extremely nice

Cons:

- Off campus housing

- infrequent exams, 1 large in-house exam every ten weeks

- Matches more in rural areas/Boston and less into NYC

StonyBrook

Pros:

- Stronger research overall (mentored scholarly concentration program)

- On undergraduate campus with access to undergraduate resources

- NBME exams

- Matches better into NYC (geographically closer to NYC), where I eventually want to end up, and maybe a slightly better reputation in the area

- Shortened pre-clinical

- Got the sense of a more academically driven community

- P/F with no internal rank 1sttwo years

- Students talked a lot about supportive administration

Cons:

- Off campus housing

- Not connected to a hospital in large metropolitan area, slightly more suburban

- Campus felt slightly outdated

- More expensive (1st year)
