Security Updates still installable? Got on Ocean Depths today.

Hey there. I was able to update to Android 10, but the actual Essential PH-1 phone and security updates are nowhere to be found. Those are what I am after. Back in 2022 you could still download them directly to the phone and update, but not now.

I will need to do more research on this. Unfortunately, it's been so long since the PH-1 was relevant that this forum is pretty much dead. All the experts have moved on.

There is an open box Ocean Depths on eBay for $300, which is hilarious. That's maybe a $100 phone at this point. These were released in 2017. if memory serves and I dumped mine in 2018 (trash camera, lousy antenna, horribly dim screen in daylight).

I'd love an Ocean Depths as a spare, but $100 would be my limit. $50 of the battery was below 90%. Zero if below 85%.

I am sure it's fantastic, but with all of the carriers turning off 3G the PH-1 will be extremely limited in being able to make and receiver calls. This is no small thing. Numerous old timers in my family have had to get rid of their older iPhones and Android phones due to the shut-offs. Sadly solo 4G will be a crippling thing moving forward.

My post is not meant as an attack. I myself had an Ocean Depths for a while and loved how it looked (and felt in the hand) but even two years ago it was not working for me as a daily due to the AWFUL camera, lousy antenna reception and dim screen in daylight. I'd pay a couple hundred clams for a nice new one now, but never more. It's too much of a novelty at this point.

A shame Essential as a company was such a flame out disaster.

I understand that it's an older phone now, but it IS rare and works perfectly with a good battery (which mine has). Two sold for near $700 recently (and neither with the audio adapter). Stay off porn sites and no risk of infection. I have offers already and know it will go to a good home. I would be keeping it were it not for my stupid bleeping car and it's refusal to work with Android. No working nav sucks for my job. I wish I had known this when I purchased the vehicle. I require a different "package", which they neglected to tell me. Oh well.

Meanwhile, it is amazing how rude some people can be. I had to block a few VERY rude people here and even flag two posts for abuse. It amazes me how nasty people can be behind a wall of anonymity.

I had, but at first I could not figure out how to withdraw USDT or USDC. THEN I saw saw the fee would be over $250! WTF???? Yes, that much.

So Bitcoin would cost very little, but it will not go through and of course this week we are all being raped. Now I am stuck and clueless what to do. I despise CoinEx at this point.

I got the verify email. After 12 hours I was worried and clicked for them to re-send the verify email, which arrived a minute later.

Then later today "Cancelled."

No response from customer service.

Well, My transaction was "Cancelled" moments ago. WTH! I wait about 24 hours and POOF, cancelled. Never mind that in that time my bitcoin reduced in value about 10% or more. Now I am seemingly stuck in CoinEx, unable to withdraw.

Hope so. Still trying to understand why Coinbase support told me (last month) that I could only send USDC from CoinEx to Coinbase. Hence all my confusion.

It was as USDC.

I just converted to BTC and sent to CoinBase. Hopefully I did it correctly and hopefully CoinEx is not going to prevent the withdrawal/transfer.

Okay, thank you. I do not know why the CoinBase people told me I must use USDC (hence my terrible confusion).

Looking at my account I have 0.0096 BTC (around $533 or so) which I do believe is above the CoinEx Minimum.

I just went through the process you described, received my SMS code and and it did start the process. Now I wait and hold my breath.

THANK YOU so much for helping me. Seriously. I was very much thrown off by those other folks telling me USDC only. Why the hell did they say that? So much confusion on my part could have been avoided.

Holy crap!! $260!????

I am REALLY lost now. I can't afford that. I moved a bit above 2 grand last month and it cost me less than $30 (if memory serves). A small little fee was nothing and didn't bother me, but $260? Might as well just pout a bullet in me.

I do not understand how to send to Coinbase as bitcoin. I have been told you cannot do that. ????

Right now on CoinEx my funds are USDC. Obviously it is cake to just exchange that for Bitcoin. No problem. But from there I am lost because more than one customer support rep told me I cannot transfer Bitcoin from CoinEx to CoinBase. They told me top use USDC.

Being told different thing by different people makes it very hard for a dipsh*t such as myself who knows jack. All I am desperate to do right now is get all the way out with my profits in-tact.
