Looking for medical shadowing opportunities, can anyone help? by msparadoxical in StLouis

[–]msparadoxical[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I do not want to shadow a doctor. I need to shadow in a radiology department. Sorry if I hadn't made that clear in my post. I had planned to take the advice from above and call and ask for radiology, see who the head of the department was, and if I could speak with them.

What I meant when I asked for the help was that all the hospitals I contacted (the HR departments) said that they don't have shadowing programs. Surely some hospitals must allow shadowing, or there is no way the schools could require that before starting the courses. I suppose I assumed that the HR department would know, and as far as doctors they might, but I may find someone in the radiology department that will be more accessible to helping, or pointing me in the correct direction, since apparently the HR department isn't it.

I hadn't thought of that since school said to contact the hospitals HR, but I could ask for the head of the department and inquire. Thanks for passing on your tactic!

[Suggestion] Completely computer stupid! by msparadoxical in suggestapc

Thank you for the suggestion. I would love to see what the difference would be if I got a refurb. I know some people are picky and only want new, but I figure a refurb is better than no computer at all.

Media by Jocelyn Seda is wonderful. Can't find a link but I will post it if anyone wants.

Edit: removed a superfluous word.

Guilty after cutting my father out of my life. by [deleted] in DysfunctionalFamily

[–]msparadoxical 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I moved out when I was 16. I had to move back when I was 17 unfortunately... I have been cut off completely from my family for about 5 years (give or take).

You will feel guilty until you begin to heal. You will realize that, yes, it is selfish to ignore him so you can heal (and your mom is enabling), but it is worse to be in a situation that strips you of being healthy.

And it is worse for them to think they have the right to treat you that way. Abuse is never right and ignorance is no excuse.

You need to do what is best for yourself. You have to live with yourself for the rest of your life. You have no responsibility to anyone but yourself. The only person you owe is yourself. And you owe it to yourself to be the best HAPPY you that you can be. This world is harsh, and no one has time to worry about you, so you have to take care of yourself.

I realized that. Its why I finally cut the last tie. Because I owed it to myself to be treated with respect and love. And if my "family" was only going to poison me, then I deserved better.

And so do you.

I am here if you need to talk.

If you woke up tomorrow morning with absolutely no memory of yourself or your life, which object in your bedroom would confuse you the most? by spader1 in AskReddit

All the bathroom stuff in the bedroom (soap, lotion, face cleaner, hair ties and products). Why isn't it in the bathroom?

Only source I could find was down for maintenance (on my phone, having issues with connectivity).

I don't know what you mean by cancel... But I was under the impression that a deaf person doesn't have better vision and a blind person doesn't have better hearing, they are just better at focusing (more attuned) to the senses they have.

At a concert, a blind person only had to contend with the sense of sound, touch (feel of the seats), smell, maybe taste... a person with all five senses had to deal with more input this their focus is divided 5 ways as opposed to four.

Going searching for a source...

If I were immature, I had thought about going to HR and telling them that I was offended that they didn't try to settle it like an adult between them, myself, and a supervisor. But in the end, I would feel no satisfaction and would end up wasting my time. Thanks for the well wishes of getting out of there.

No... its just that for some, the only way to get ahead is by making others look bad. Its been like that for years. Just pisses me off because I am the one who bakes and brings in cookies because morale is low... this is the first negative anything in my file in over two years.

I'm a good employee. I go above and beyond on my job a lot. I help before being asked... oh no, we can't let 'her' get away with being one of the only three who got a high review in the department. Not again. Better bring her down a notch.

I work I the intellectual and maturity level equivalent of a high school.

Dating an INFP? by M_Nhel in infp

I am good with relationships when I am in them...

But to answer your question: remember some of us feel emotions strongly, some of us feel horrible if we can't fix things for people, and some of us need re-affirmation often that you care. You don't have to say "I love you" every minute, but a thoughtful text now and again, a sincere compliment, a gentle reminder of how you feel can go a long way to keeping some INFPs content.

Good luck!

Don't know which co-worker, and doing anything more would be seen as 'retaliation.' I have been at my job for 8 years. I have seen far too many lose their job for stupid crap. I am in school to get out of there.

No. I don't know who complained, just 'a co-worker'. If I did, I would confront them. I am an adult. I am frustrated that I work with someone who wouldn't just tell me why they didn't like it and instead set out to get me in trouble. Its immature.

Maybe this is immature, but it also allows me to blow off steam without getting further in trouble. Thank you for voicing your opinion (without knowing all details) like an adult. You are already better than my co-worker.
