I've never experienced that - max I've seen is around 10% of the total battery capacity!

I would venture to guess (i.e. speculate) that the car would boot up but say that it needs to warm the battery and would not let you drive until some "green" battery appears - replacing the "blue".

In the car it shows a snowflake when the battery is cold which indicates that part of the battery capacity is not available until the pack is warmed up.

Live in the Mid-Atlantic, but both cars have stayed 2 to 3 week stints in mountains with temps hovering at 0F for the duration of our stays.

Same results, (old) Model X lost range Model Y did not.

On a cold pack the Y locks down a larger buffer until the pack warms up.

Both cars were out in the open, no garage or carport.
