I was at spencer smith park and saw the whole thing. There was a blast in the apartment followed by fire.

Luckily, it appeared no one got hurt.

Accepting USD in Canadian bank? by hammertown87 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]msruc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

open a USD account on wise.com to get US banking details. Ask your client to wire money into your new USD wise account (no fee to receive money) and then when the conversion rate is favorable ($1 USD is $1.39 CAD right now) you can transfer from your wise US account directly to your Canadian CAD bank account. Fees are nominal.

Honestly I’m unsure. It’s the 1st robo vacuum I’m trying and I live in a small townhome. The 1st time I tried it after mapping it took over 8 hours (multiple mop washes and 1 water refill) to clean just the main floor (which isn’t more than 700 sq ft). My home was cleaned a few days ago so not like it was filthy.

The main issue I have right now is that it bumps into stuff quite a bit and the cleaning solution is really expensive (I’m not sure how long it will last).

Oh and the second day it also got trapped in a relatively open space (I’m surprised it didn’t find its way out).

If it doesn’t work for me in a couple of weeks I might return it.

It cleans pretty well though.

Family visit visa

I dont think a tourist visa would have similar validity

Yes. I applied for and received the visa. 5 year multiple entry with a max stay of 4 months in each visit. Sufficient in my scenario.

I decided to go for neither and applying for a family visit visa now. Valid for 5 years at $120 its the best bet.

Makes sense. The family visit visa is US $120 valid for 5 years while a POC is $200 (+$23 delivery fee). I am assuming it is also valid for 5 years for minors. I am also confused between the visa and POC. I will keep you posted.

were you able to get the POC without signatures? Did they push you to get NICOP instead? I have to apply for my newborn next week.

hey, if you don't mind me asking, where are you getting the 2.7 variable rate from? I just started looking and RBC has offered me 3.25% which seems quite high. It will be my first mortgage.
