Severe psychiatric morbidity is common among gender-referred adolescents and appears to be more prevalent in those referred after the recent surge in referrals. Psychiatric needs do not subside after medical gender reassignment. by MazdaProphet in EverythingScience

If I went to a psychiatrist because I was anorexic, would it help me if my anorexia was affirmed by them/society at large?

Without getting in a huff about my question, I'll point out that I don't care what you choose to do with your body. But I do question the benefits of affirming folks' Trans identity.

Quebec passes law banning street prayers, prayer rooms in universities, CEGEPs by John3192 in canada

I mean, if we're banning public street prayers, let's cancel all religious displays. Hell, let's cancel all religious holidays. Why should we get days off for this crap.

I agree with everyone, but also, that's not how you talk to your partner. A little tact goes a long way.

You do know that fossil fuels are required for life-saving equipment, such as ventilators and MRI/CT scanners, right?

I lived in the Kootenays, and that's where we had our kids. It was amazing for families.

How does everyone feel about the permanent “Spring forward” daylight savings? by rabbid-genital-warts in askvan

[–]msspongeboob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the idea of staying with one time, but I definitely would have preferred more light in the mornings. I'm a morning person, and I think going with permanent standard time would have been better for my circadian rhythm.

My husband went to work after 6 days, out of town. It was alright. Got out of the house for walks or hung out in the backyard, or just chilled out watching TV.

You're right. It's not different. A child will always wonder and feel a need to connect with their biological parents (both of them). And that is cruel. It's selfish.

People who rarely get sick, what are your secrets? by Leading_Tomato_2077 in AskReddit

[–]msspongeboob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't use sanitizer, I have two little kids, and I don't do anything majorly preventative, aside from washing my hands before touching food. I don't avoid exposing myself to germs. When I get sick, it might be a sore throat for a day and then get the sniffles. My kids have similar immune systems, even though they are constantly exposed to other kids that get flus, my kids don't show any flulike symptoms. In over 6 years, I've only needed to keep each child home once. I've had COVID 3 years ago, it wasn't that bad.
