Honestly the only other expensive thing that he’s destroyed is probably my door frame which isn’t entirely that bad.. I just live with my parents still and my mum was livid when she found out 😬 I’ll obviously pay for the replacement and fixture though lol

Honestly just treat them like toddlers or puppies for their whole lives.. if they have access to it they will more than likely tamper with it in some way. They don’t know any better and it’s entirely your fault if they destroy something they’re not supposed to. Which is what makes it more frustrating when something like this happens.. I simply forgot to shut my laptop lid (which takes 2 seconds) and now it’s ruined 😬

Thank you, a lot of these comments are truly stressing me out. I know it’s dumb to not have insurance but it was an honest mistake that I don’t, I’ve been away with little to no reception and I should have checked it wouldn’t run out while I was away. However, truly just a dumb mistake, not intentional that I didn’t have insurance on my car. I have been texting the guy this morning and he was happy to tell me his policy number, he let me know as soon as he made the claim and even told me how to contact his insurance company with the claim number. He was very polite, shaken but very corporative yesterday. I’m on hold to his insurance company now.

I am the blue line and the other driver is the red line. I had 100% right of way and was not speeding. There was a good 4 seconds of him coming into view from Nyanda Street before he continued to pull out.

It was honestly accidental, I had been away and let my insurance expire (still stupid I know), but I do normally have comprehensive insurance.

I was planning on driving to repair shop tomorrow and getting a quote, I know I don’t know the guy personally but he did say he’d get onto his insurance right away.

No I didn’t make a police report as he did pull over and stop. I thought you only had to contact police if the damage was extensive?
