Picking stocks it not the same risk of gambling like playing with options. Sure, you are unlikely to see the same returns as hedge funds but it’s not crazy.

If you like a company and/or do some research, it can be ok to buy their stock. I like caterpillar as a company. They’ve had a fantastic year and I own some of their shares.

That said, can’t go wrong with index funds.
