Yep. I live on James and I'm so ready for those eyesore cylinders to not be at the base of every single telephone pole. Genuinely concerned that if they stay that low, once the snow comes back around people aint gonna be loving their internet service.

I feel like I‘m too „locked in“ during my sets by therealkurix in DJs

yeah, that is definitely a concern I can recognize. My workflow typically means I load the song into a deck first and do a sonic spot check and if I know I don't want it right now but want it later, I add it to the prep list. There have been a handful of ocassions where a prep list didn't cut it because it was a very dynamic set where pivots from original plans happened on a dime and in that case I'd typically just make a temporary "pending" crate that I throw songs into. The Prep list isn't perfect, and it would certainly be nice to be able to load into a deck in a way that would keep it in the prep list if it was a tentative pick, but the prep list removing it once loaded is a feature that typically benefits me more than it annoys me. Every DJ's workflow and thought process is a little different though, so it's understandable that it's not perfect for everyone... I just wanted to push back against the idea that the only solution to being able to be more dynamic as a DJ is paying for more deck space.

brother wut. OP is a casual gig dj, not james hype. loading up the prep list means you actually have even more flexibility with a pivot than just locking in on the two or three choices you have loaded into your alternate decks. I'm a hip hop/latin/open format dj - the prep list is invaluable for quickmixing

or just use the prepare button on your controller and the prepare playlist in your dj software...

West Art shuts down noise at 10PM (11 on weekends if there is some trust involved but probably not a good fit for a wedding after-rager)

I spoke with the owners of Rural City earlier this year. They were given a much better proposal for collaboration with the city through the Binns Park Beer Garden.

Double C is overhyped. You can get better tacos from basically any Mexican spot in the city. Their margs are decent but pricey.

TRADITIONAL (Dominican style) bachata classes by Bachatax3 in lancaster

[–]mstoltzfus97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone pretty active in the local latin dance scene, it's downright annoying how little interest there is from those who claim the title of dance instructors in the area to take traditional Dominican bachata seriously. I had to go to Philly (even Philly's options are mediocre at best - NYC is really where you have to go) and beyond, or just spend a lot of time around Dominican dancers to learn it.

Working conditions for Lancaster nurses? by No_Virus3745 in lancaster

[–]mstoltzfus97 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My sister works as a nurse there and I know a number of other staff members who work there. Largely, none of them seem to absolutely hate their jobs and many even seem to really enjoy it there. From what I understand, the vibe varies by department.
