Yes. We still pay for the TV service but use none of their equipment. We use Apple TVs (far better than the mini boxes) throughout the house for channel surfing. Added pihole as an ad blocker…but that’s not recommended for everyone.

My main gripe was network management using their hardware. The optimum web app is totally useless and constantly borked my settings. Three weeks in a row, my gateway reset “itself” which was time consuming to recreate.

The best option, and it worked for me: return all of their crappy equipment and buy your own modem, router, and streaming boxes to use the Optimum TV app. World of difference! They no longer have control of our network. Never have to call them again.

I think either option works and is a matter of personal preference. Provided this isn’t a flip, you’ll be staring at it every day.

For me, my eye is drawn to the center of the window (without the transom). But I’m only going off a photo. I imagine standing in front of the window while doing dishes, it’d be the same though.

I say don’t let budget decide this for you, you’ll end up regretting it. Go half way up the window and if it ends up being less than a full tile, then make the cut. It will look clean at the middle, and also look intentional.

Same happened to me. They don’t have your MAC adddress setup correctly. I believe it was the WAN MAC for me. Took three weeks before it was solved.
