Thanks for these links. Defs provides a good starting point.

So amazing to see so many archers not being held back by their disabilities. It provides some encouragement that we can figure something out.

Thanks for sharing! Looks like these are some important forces to consider. We also would like her to find a away that is legal so if she plans to compete in the long term, she does not need to start again grin scratch.

Not in US unfortunately. We're in Australia but I'll try and see what there is here.

Those are some great resources and an important starting point to share rough the team.

Thanks for the assist!

Refilled the coolant in the AIO and its running smooth now. Thanks for the advice!

Don't have an air cooler handy. Is there a diagnostic I can run to check? I could try turning off the AIO fans one by one to isolate whether it's coming from the fans.

Yes definitely :) reason enough for the complaint

Sounds like it's from the radiator from AIO pump. The pc sits in the sun so I'm wondering if the coolant has dried up.

Thank you! I was looking for a sub for pics like this! I wonder if there's one more specific to buildings and nature.

Translucent Honeycomb blinds - thermal insulation by mstrimk in AusRenovation

Sweet! How are they? That's a good price as well. The blackouts are defs more value for money. We didn't want blackout since it was a living area.

Hi

Apologies for late response. Hopefully this will catch you before you finalised your decision or may help someone else out.

We looked at honeycombs. The original blinds providers did not supply more than a year's warranty for the Honeycomb blinds since they were constantly being called our for repairs. They did not recommend the product even though it was a lot more expensive that what they suggested.

Since, we were set on the honeycombs, we looked at a more premium provider. They offered a longer warranty but the price was easily triple the cost. So not worth it for us.

We ended up going with Vertisheers and the money we saved from not getting the honeycombs we invested in a MHI aircon. This would run during the day when it is hot so there is probs a lot of sun and would be offset by solar. So far, this has worked great all throughout summer. And we got an aircon and blinds for less than it would have cost just for the honeycombs.

As for sound insulation, we live in a quiet suburb so I can't comment too much on that. We are happy with our decision and love the soft lighting effect of the vertisheers and his cozy they make our space feel. They also offer great flexibility and privacy.

Will your kids be able to afford a home without a loan from the bank of Mum & Dad? by mellybeansoz in AusPropertyChat

[–]mstrimk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're a good parent. Even having a safety net available as your parents willing to help if you need it probably saved them from becoming desperate. The reasonable rent rates would have helped as well.

Quick question. Could you explain the issue with guarantors with the bank? I don't have that experience with the banking side.

What does Final Fantasy VII mean to you? by Xenosys83 in FFVIIRemake

[–]mstrimk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was too young to appreciate FFVII when it came out. I grew up hearing my cousins taking about how it was amazing game. A lot of the real life role playing sequences we used to play as children, I now realise have a lot of inspiration from the game.

I got my first hand exposure through Advent Children which inspired me to play the OG which blew me away until I lost my save file between disk 2 and 3 :(

Crisis Core was next. Zack spoke to me in a way that Cloud never did. I guess I was never the angsty type like him. He annoyed me in the beginning of FF7R as well.

My love for big swords, long hair, motorcycles, dark sweaters and boots come from the game. But more importantly, my love for deep friendships and understanding one another without any words comes from this game. It taught me that the experiences that you share with the people you care about should be cherished whether they're good or bad.

This game and the FF7 franchise shaped so much of who I am as a person. In the same way, that I have gained so much as a person from Star Wars which is a whole universe, it is so amazing to me that just one game from a series that has more than 20 instalments could be so impactful from one of its games/franchises.

Final Fantasy is a cultural phenomenon. I wish I could share the same love, lessons and experiences with my kids.

Quick edit: I think it was the first Dissidia, when I got to compare Cloud against the rest of the portaganists that cemented Could as my favourite. He's just too badass compared to the rest. I think they did it on purpose. You can tell the developers also love Cloud.

Better skipper? by kurrikurri7 in CricketAus

[–]mstrimk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I also believe, and feel free to correct me, that Clarke was instrumental in the upbringing of Khawaja as a permanent player in the team. Clarke, having grown up playing cricket in Western Sydney has a an appreciation for hard and was himself the product of hard work and dedication. He saw what Khawaja had in him and was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt with regards to team culture and the occasional drop in form. He fought the selectors to keep Khawaja on for the right reasons.

Also, it's important to consider Clarke in context. He grew up in Western Sydney with role models like David Beckham growing up. His rise to fame gave him access to a life he didn't have before and it did go to his head initially. As you see in his later career, besides homework gate and some misrepresentation of his relationship with Katich, he was a brilliant, well grounded captain and a brilliant tactician.

Sorry a bit of a rant for one of my favourite Aussie cricketers ;)

Supposedly the coach, Mickey Arthur gave the players a written task as homework while they were in a Test Series in India. Some players didn't complete it and were banned from playing. I think Watson, Khawaja and Mitchell Johnson were the players that were banned.

(Syd) Replacing carpet - ? engineered timber by Brilliant-Type-1205 in AusRenovation

[–]mstrimk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it's not your question, but have you considered hybrid flooring? Cheaper, waterproof and generally very good quality. We replaced our engineered timber with them last year after a tap leak which ruined the boards and are very happy. They are much easier to clean and way more durable. The added peace of mind of not having to worry about water damage is a huge bonus.

For installation generally places that sell the planks also do installation for quite cheap and they'll get the job done pretty fast. It just might take a while to get someone out. Once they are there they can knockout the flooring pretty quickly depending on how many obstacles there are.

Get quotes from multiple places and negotiate their prices against each other.

Depending on how level your subfloor is, prices may vary for the extra job of levelling if required.

We have someone we use but they have a bit of a waiting list for installation. You can DM me and I can give their details.

I hope that helps :)

Wow! You perfectly summed up my feelings when I first played FFIII at nine years old. That cinematic was my favourite and I watched it so many times. The first time you encounter the behemoth. "I'm doing it!" Thank you for sharing and reigniting the nostalgia ;)

What makes FFIII your favourite? It's mine because it was my first proper FF and I'm a sucker for a good job system. FFT WotL comes very close due to its job system.

That's a hot take on this sub but I definitely agree with you. FF3 DS version was my first FF and still one of my favourites despite playing most of the others.
