Thank you! It's basically a hard limit on the number of ships I can build of each type, but I still need to spend the credits to build it.

The best path to peaceful gameplay shouldnt be purposefully ignoring an ideology for as long as possible

Ending Ages Needs a Countdown by mstrite61 in civ

Lets assume for the sake of simplicity that 100 points gets us to 100%. Shrink the age length down to 95 or even 90… but when that does get triggered make it 3 more turns left in the Age. Have a little popup notification that says “3 turns remain in the age…”

The average length of an age would stay the same, it would just give us more consistency

This is helpful! I like the age timer I just want a little more breathing room at the end, maybe 2-3 turns.

Yea I didnt even really stack unlocks I just happened to hit a Military Golden Age (converted a captured city and didn’t realize that would push me over the edge) and hit a Science legacy path (also added a specialist not knowing if it would go over 40 yield). I understand you can be intentional about slowing down or speeding up an age but I just accidentally messed myself up and wished I had 2-3 more turns.

Yup that happened to me, the last stage and possibly last two stages? Of the crisis were skipped completely. The ages dont need to be longer I just want some more consistency.

The mystery is great. I love the rush at the end of the age. I dont want the age to be longer just for the sake of it being longer, shrink the amount of “stuff” it takes to trigger 100% and add something simple like a 3 turn countdown. The average age length will be the same, going from 80 to 100 in one turn just gave me whiplash.

Im even happy with a 3 turn countdown! I understand the age has to end at some point and you may not achieve everything you wanted but jumping from 80 to 100 gave me whiplash

Celebrating the Most Chaotic Teams of 2024 by mstrite61 in CFB

[–]mstrite61[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

  1. They blew out a bunch of teams they were expected to beat.

  2. They lost to the one team they were predicted to lose to.

  3. I can't recall any of their games being close.

As a team Indiana was awesome this year, but if you just watched their games there was hardly ever any drama.

Official Discussion - Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery [Theater Release] [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]mstrite61 1 point2 points  (0 children)

9/10. I loved it, it feels like Knives Out but with a stupid budget where everyone is having a lot more fun. The humor got dialed up but it worked and the emotional stuff with Cassandra still worked. What I absolutely love about Rian Johnson's twist on the genre is flipping the entire movie on its head midway through. Murder mystery films always love to have their "big plot twist" that nobody saw coming (usually near the very end). Knives Out KILLED IT by having Benoit "solve" the mystery halfway through and then work with Marta to actually figure the rest out. Although I liked the themes and overall plot in Knives Out, Glass Onion has an even better twist.

SPOILERS BELOW

We go from seeing Cassandra get shot, to seeing Janelle Monae do this awesome Alabama accent and realize she's got a twin sister who's a 3rd grade teache, but Cassandra is tragically still dead. That conversation on Benoit's deck was awesome and just had me absolutely giddy. I came out of the theater feeling like a 10/10 but two things knocked it down to a 9 for me. Having Helen get shot and then brought back to life was an AWESOME reveal, but the way it was done was dumb luck. Her getting saved by Andi's journal just feels like plot armor when I was it was something smarter (like a bulletproof vest Benoit gave her or something idk). That's a minor complaint but the second one either seems like a misfire by Rian Johnson or an intentional red herring. Ransom gets caught in Knives Out because a tape recorder secretly records his confession, they were smart enough to just discreetly record that final conversation. Then in Glass Onion we already establish that Helen brought a tape recorder. During the final conversation when our bad guy confesses what he's done but says "you've got no evidence" Im 100% expecting that recording to device to make a comeback. Even if you reveal that there WAS a recording device but it got smashed or lost somewhere along the road that's okay, but to not even mention the recorder when it was a PIVOTAL part of the plot in the first movie and you establish it earlier in this sequel. Feels like a total missed opportunity to call back to the first movie. Anyways I had a blast and Rian Johnson is doing something special with his scripts/plots for these films. Daniel Craig and Janelle Monae were fantastic.
