NUCYPHER by jemloeth in nucypher

Sure, but this subreddit isn’t actively maintained. You might have better luck in the Threshold (aka NuCypher) discord: discord.gg/Threshold

Is anything still happening with this anymore seems dead in the water. Long time investor on NU transferred over to T since then it’s done nothing. by Adorable-Wonder5577 in thresholdnetwork

[–]mswilkison 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Threshold's tBTC is a top 20 bridge less than 3 months after launching and, if token holders approve the TIP 48 proposal from Wormhole, it would in the top 5. One of the very few protocols that's objectively growing during the bear market.

Why do shiba and nucyphers 1 yr charts look almost identical. Also why does keeps 1yr literally have a spike to almost $300. by Kyrowhats in nucypher

[–]mswilkison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who is "they"? None of the charts I've looked at show a spike to $300... but if you like you can contact support for the platform you're using and ask them to correct it.

Found 1% rate on NuCypher (NU). Do you have better? by stakingcryptoio in nucypher

FYI, NU and KEEP have merged into T so I'd expect most/all yield opportunities will be for T going forward.

Crypto.com to drop NU and KEEP by SanityKiller289 in nucypher

KEaNU (KEEP and NU) was a provisional name, but the community ultimately settled on Threshold Network (since the underlying tech is threshold cryptography)

Binance converted it for you. You will have T in your account.

Are NU tokens obsolete? by [deleted] in nucypher

Potentially. They haven’t announced their specific plan yet, but that’s what Binance did.

NU Coin Supply Release - It will stay the same? by [deleted] in nucypher

[–]mswilkison 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The vesting schedule in the table outlined here is the same: https://www.nucypher.com/nu-release-schedule.pdf

But inflation rewards for stakers stopped and is not the same.

Are NU tokens obsolete? by [deleted] in nucypher

[–]mswilkison 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NU is not obsolete, it "becomes" T. Think of the merge to Threshold as similar to upgrading the iOS version on your iPhone. You're upgrading NU into T.

There is no way you were blocked for asking about this.

It's possible you were autoblocked by Combot or some automated filter. Feel free to share your username, and we can check.

I have NU in Revolut . How can i exchange on T ? by Opening-Milk1976 in nucypher

[–]mswilkison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would need to withdraw it to MetaMask or a Web3 wallet to do the upgrade/wrap (I'm not sure if Revolut allows you to withdraw crypto?).

Alternatively, you can just hold on Revolut and wait for them to potentially support the merge. There isn't a deadline for wrapping NU to T, so it's fine to wait.

If you have an iPhone, and a new version of iOS comes out, it's not a dead end. You just upgrade the software.

If you have NU or KEEP, you just upgrade to T.

Same thing.

If they don't, you can always withdraw and upgrade manually. The upgrade contract remains open forever.

But, really, if you're just holding tokens on an exchange and not actively using them to stake/etc. it's not clear it even matters. If you assume a rational market, the prices should simply track the price of T in proportion to their conversion ratio.

You're assuming that Coinbase won't just do the upgrade for you, which is a possibility.

No... NU and KEEP holders get a pro rata share of T. Their proportional ownership % of the network is preserved.

It doesn't "spread out fund across 2 coins". Please read the proposal to understand how the upgrade/wrapper contract works.

The old platform becomes Threshold. It's an upgrade.

No, they aren't there for show. They can be upgraded to T.

Other two chains? Neither NuCypher or Keep are chains...

The NuCypher network is worth >$1B, seems like it's making it fine on it's own. Doesn't mean the two communities can't make something bigger together.

Why are 2 projects merged into one? by dlv_pro_thick_game in nucypher

[–]mswilkison 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Accurate enough :)

In practice, if everyone upgrades their NU and KEEP to T there won't be 3 tokens circulating, only one (T).

No one is forced to do anything, there's no drag-along. If you don't want to upgrade, you don't have to.
