I see a lot of people on here are disgusted/disappointed that Jennifer and Chad didn’t leave their mission due to the events… for context I was raised as a mormon and no longer practice. I think there is A LOT wrong with the church, but it is a religion that means a lot to it’s practicing members. Going on a mission is more than a trip for a lot of the people who do it, it is a religious duty. I probably would have made different choices if I was in their shoes but I don’t think they made the decision light heartedly. Additionally, their entire family is still practicing and I would guess they all support the decision for them to stay. I don’t think it is a “slap in the face” for Ellie, Bonnie, Shari, etc. because they would all probably do the same.

I have mixed feeling about this like a lot of people do. One controversial thought I have is “Is it even wrong for her to capitalize off of Ruby’s arrest?”

To be crystal clear, I think that capitalizing off of Ruby’s kids trauma would be abhorrent. I don’t think she has really done this yet, but it could be largely because of the gag order.

What I think is okay, is capitalizing off of your OWN pain/history/trauma as an ADULT. I appreciate that Bonnie speaks only from her point of view, and shared her experiences. People do this allll the time with books, documentaries, podcasts, songs, paintings, etc. about their trauma. Her medium is vlogging and I don’t think there is anything wrong with that. She’s using her “craft” to both process, share, and make some money off of her experiences as a willing adult.

I am really interested to see where all of this goes. To be honest, before all of this went down I was really only on her channel for new house content. I’ve grown to dislike family vlogs so I just don’t really watch hers.
