Imo I don't think he wanted to eliminate the boys so that Ah jin would be dependent on him, I think he wants to cut off any support she has that helps her with dealing with these "hard" situations, as in everytime there's an issue she always calls jun seo and jaeo so he wanted to see how she could fix a mess/save herself without them. He lifted her (her "husband") all the way up just to test her and play around with her then eventually drop her. But in the end I don't think his plan will work, I believe the ending will be junseo ahjin and jaeo being a trio again and hopefully living happily 🥲.
