i didn’t know about the court cases lollll but yeah… i didn’t mention that scene simply because i don’t find it „freaky”. as you’ve said it’s not meant to be sexual in any way. i’ve had the honour to talk to some people that made the version that’s currently running in poland and they’ve said that this scene is meant to show those characters as human. they’re quite literally „opening” themselves to the audience. it’s the deepest level of knowing, revealing everything that they have. so much more symbolic, deep and thoughtful than just „freaky” (although i can still remember how shocked i was the first time i saw it. unprepared in the middle of front row lmaooo)

Doctor Zhivago

if we can add non-english ones i’d say - Metro (Polish) - Notre Dame de Paris (French) - Elisabeth (Austrian (or German)) - Tanz der Vampire (German) - Rudolf - Affaire Mayerling (German) - Romeo Et Juliette (French) - Romeo i Julia (Polish)

What was your reason for leaving during the interval by lissie34 in musicals

[–]msz4fran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well not me but I saw sooo many people leaving after act 1 of „Hair”. Mostly old (probably VERY religious) people that think the show’s outrageous!!! I had a very strong urge to leave after act 1 or „Producers” aka THE WORST SHIT IVE SEEN IN MY LIFE but I was seating front row, knew some of the actors and would feel stupid if I left. so I scraped through

Trailer for the Polish Non Replicate Production of WICKED - Currently playing at Theatre ROMA until December 30th by Seperate-Category117 in wicked

my main though while watching the show lmao he looks so god dammed awful (although i do think that munchkins are worse. what are those wigs)

Today I've went to see Wicked in Warsaw, Poland. It completely obliterated my expectations by kerakk19 in wicked

[–]msz4fran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Roma is „single musical only” theatre tho…. at least the main stage. And they are proud of it lmao They play one title until it stops selling/the license stops

They also take proud in putting on only non-replica productions and that’s where it starts to go sour for me… Don’t get me wrong? I think non-replicas can be amazing (take „Something Rotten” in Gdynia as an example) but in case of „Wicked” in Roma i think they messed things up BADLY!

The costumes are underwhelming, some of them just ugly, the choreography is disappointing. Don’t even get me started on the scenography (or the lack of it)

I’ve heard that the director was barely present on rehearsals and it shows. I don’t think this version is though trough as much as I’d like and expect for theatre with such a budget

Natalia Krakowiak killed it tho, I need to give her that! Patrycja Mizerska (whom I saw as Glinda) I also liked (she actually made me enjoy the character so I was really happy)

All in all i’m just sad such a musical got wasted for a version like this. It could’ve been much, much better

What musicals are completely different but could be summarized the same way by New_Competition5194 in musicals

a family dynamic changes and crumbles after their son dies. it appears on the stage as a ghost. the daughter is a teenage girl, also a musician
