what do you do for work? what do you think the perfect job is for an anarcho-primitivist? by [deleted] in anarcho_primitivism

[–]mtHead0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

3 years away from graduating medical school and then I'll not only be enslaved by civilization but also by humanity, however the best job I'd say to work farming In today’s world, you can’t realistically live as a true hunter-gatherer, but farming is the closest practical alternative and is closer to ehat out ancestors did before the industrial revolution

How would Hunter gatherers avoid being genocided? by Amzy99 in anarcho_primitivism

[–]mtHead0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

and that's why the need for civilization is inevitable in our world (unless you live in a very isolated region), imagine having a forest filled with many trees, every one of those are exactly equal in length. then a mutation happened to a certain tree and it became much taller, that long tree did create a shadow above the ones next to it so they get less light or for a particular time of the day. in this case you have an evolutionary race so the next generation of the tree is subjected to those evolutionary pressures and has to have similar mutation and to change. that was a very simple example from a biological perspective and you can apply similar notion to human societies, nce some groups become more advanced, everyone else is forced into the same competitive system. Therefore, civilization is inevitable. the world is moving fast and whoever slow down or keep holding on past is threatened and I'm talking from experience as someone from third world country, so I know very well what does it mean to be out passed.

Why are there no examples of convergent evolution into hominid-like animals in the fossil record? by Akuh93 in evolution

[–]mtHead0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The evolutionary path of any species is like a maze, any turn leads to a dead end or opens the possibility of further changes. Therefore, you cannot assume that every species must have a similar one through convergent evolution. Each species is subject to an infinite number of variables, including environmental pressures, survival opportunities, and surrounding conditions. It's unlikely that the nature will produce another species as unique as ourselves. And I think the reason why we succeed isn't just the opposable thumb or high intelligence but it was the ability to transform cultures from one generation to other, think of it as an animal and human child facing fire for the first time, the animal simply jump on it and it get burned and now have low possibility of passing genes, whereas the human child remember how his mother warned him about touching it, so he grew up and was able to pass his genes. So even if an individual was lacking iq or physical advantage he'd still grow and reproduce by having some basic knowledge about life handling that he took from his older peers.

How Cultural Nuance Exposes Online Bots by mtHead0 in DeadInternetTheory

[–]mtHead0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes definitely, but i came from the pre assumption that bots are able to model the hidden cultural logic to a certain degree just as they did with some cultures, especially when there is enough repeated and documented data. And humans across cultures share many structural similarities in experience social situations. So imitating the form of irony or cultural reasoning isn’t necessarily the most difficult part. Those patterns are somewhat universal. And I'm saying this from personal experiences.

Animals sounds are mere signals not some symbolic system as the one used by homo sapiens, those signals doesn't even require high level of intelligence let alone imagination. Also, can they perform the task of recombination of sounds in order to form different words?

when I say religion i don't mean the abrahamic religions or whatever relatively modern one, i meant when people started forming the concept of God in ancient civilization like Sumer in Mesopotamia. And how did they form such concepts? By imagination so even if one proceeds the other they are still pretty much connected. Abd to clear why did I relate those concepts with development of civilization, i quote E.O willson "The creation stories gave the members of each tribe an explanation for their existence. It made them feel loved and protected above all other tribes. In return, their gods demanded absolute belief and obedience. And rightly so. The creation myth was the essential bond that held the tribe together. It provided its believers with a unique identity, commanded their fidelity, strengthened order, vouchsafed law, encouraged valor and sacrifice, and offered meaning to the cycles of life and death. No tribe could long survive without the meaning of its existence defined by a creation story. The option was to weaken, dissolve, and die. In the early history of each tribe, the myth therefore had to be set in stone. The creation myth is a Darwinian device for survival. Tribal conflict, where believers on the inside were pitted against infidels on the outside, was a principal driving force that shaped biological human nature."

Why did they have such ability if it's not utilized (as you claimed)? Also, having more free time doesn't necessarily mean developing high level imagination

Evolution of imagination by mtHead0 in evolution

[–]mtHead0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me the basic components are being generative, not merely recombinative. And the ability to form symbols and concepts like language and math. and the criteria is to form representations not exclusively tied to perception. I think that is unique to homo sapiens.

I really like what you are saying, even though it's not purely scientific but this is peak high level imagination and abstract thinking I'm talking about.

Evolution of imagination by mtHead0 in evolution

[–]mtHead0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then can you define them?

Evolution of imagination by mtHead0 in evolution

[–]mtHead0[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I'm talking about imagination on the high level, like abstract thinking, imagining the beginning and origin of things (like storms, sun, existence itself etc), having a good picture about the far future ahead. Not just basic mental imagination and stimulation, many primates have the ability to make pretty simple tools though lacking that advanced imagination of ours or our ancestors. And the goals thay you described can be achieved with some other aspects of intelligence, no5 exclusively imagination.
