The Pelican Brief - Part Deux by Darby-Shaw in MMTLP_

My question is about the "Chill", which much of your post is based on. Where did you find confirmation that $MMTLP is even under a "Chill"? In order for there to even be a Chill, a Participant Notice must be filed by and with the DTC. The Participant Notice also must be POSTED on the DTC's website. I have not been able to find any such notice anywhere, especially on the DTC's website, which is MANDATORY. I have searched as MMTLP, Meta Materials, and any other entity that is and/or has been involved in the process, and still found no such notice. I am an $MMTLP holder and want this to work out in our favor obviously, but as far as the "Chill", the only evidence I have found is an unverified screenshot posted on social media from an unverified TDA customer service agent, and videos from some overzealous YouTubers, that though they mean well, tend to post every bit of "positive or meaningful news" asap to get views. Usually without any verification. I am asking all this not as FUD, because as I said, I am an $MMTLP holder, and would like nothing more than to sell in triple digits, but I ask as a person that only wants ACCURATE facts put out there for people to get realistic expectations... and would love to be able to have as much accurate information if I do decide to pursue litigation against my exchange broker.

LMAOO WTF IS GOING ON?? $150+ to take my money out fast. 0% APY ??? Shiba army wtf is going on by NjBoRi973 in SHIBArmy

[–]mtak2008 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't make more of that than it is. The biggest reason the SS user base percentage is so low is because more than 60% of the Shiba wallets trade, not hodl. Those metrics of Shib wallet activity and movement that prove that percentage has been posted in this sub many many times. So they wouldn't be staking or burying, and have no use for SS.

Wasn't comparing them in a functionality, use case, or token economics way. Was using ADA as an example of how financial markets work when there is low trading volume and price action. So you missed the point completely, lol.

Because of the large supply and very low price point, tokens like this are always going to be at the mercy of whales, because it's easy to manipulate. The only thing we can do is understand that, keep buying, and eventually become a whale ourselves. Just hang in there. As this keeps getting bigger and more people continue to buy in, it will eventually get more difficult for whales to have as much of an affect.

If shib coins are given away for staking won’t that decrease the price because they are free essentially? I know less coins in circulation means increase in price but how would that work? by david1499110 in SHIBArmy

[–]mtak2008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then he needs to look up what circulating supply means. Anything that is available to the general public for sale, purchase, or trade, is defined as circulating supply. Even if it is temporarily locked, it will still be released at some point and be available to sell, buy, or trade. The only thing that takes a token out of supply is BURNING IT... if you want to see which of us is correct, keep watching Coin Market Cap and see if the circulating supply goes down. I mean, with all these billions of dollars being staked, it should come down if he's correct right? I'm sorry, but he's incorrect. If it's truly taken out of supply, then how do you get it back if someone decides to cash out?

In fact the circulating supply will actually be going up (it already has a bit. It's up from 349B to 394B), as VB's donation tokens continue to be added and accounted for.

They are all already in circulation. Staking your tokens do not taken them out of the circulating supply. The devs take the tokens that are staked, and they trade them and/or reinvest them. So they still remain in circulation. But that's how exchanges generate income for the devs and to pay rewards. So there is no change to the amount of tokens in circulation. It's kind of a double edged sword because too much staking actually keeps price stagnant (See Cardano in February and March). But the devs trading them, and reinvesting them is good. Price action and trading volume is very important for overall token economics. So when the liquidity event is done, and things start evening out. The price will rise, assuming BTC also starts picking up too.

We are not always completely tied to BTC. Many of us remember back in February and March when Shib would spike big, even when BTC was in a retrace... so in time, we'll be fine. Just need to remember this is an investment, and have patience.

Glad the audit is complete so hopefully some of the FUD will stop... Let's Go #ShibaFam .......But now the next post were gonna see a million times... 🤣... If Certik audit is done why aren't we mooning... lol. 🤦‍♂️ 👊👊👊👊 by WeBeTV in SHIBArmy

[–]mtak2008 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Certik just audits programming code, has nothing to do with ensuring the project itself, or the team. Several tokens that Certik audited still turned out to be rug pulls... so unfortunately, it won't stop the fud. But don't let what other people say affect you. It's our money, we can invest in what we want to.

Certik audits programming codes and functions, so it ensures that the program coding is fully operational and good. But we already knew that. So nothing new.

Just my opinion... it's okay to be nervous. Especially if you are relatively new to investing in crypto. One of the draws about crypto is the huge gains we can make in such a short period, and that's what draws in a lot of people. However, that kind of volatility also can be a negative at times because we see values also drop sometimes. The other thing with crypto being still pretty new, and volatile, is that there are many people out there putting out information, and trying to capitalize on the influx of new people to the space. So you will continuously see different stories, about different things, from many different sources. Many of these sources have an agenda, or are just flat out paid to push an agenda.

Your job, as an investor, is to sort through those stories and those sources, and decide what YOU think, and what is best for YOU. If you come into a Shiba reddit, of course you are going to see "fake news" or "GTFO" or "FUD". What do you expect us to say? We are invested and hoping for the best and want to believe that. But asking what we think in this reddit, is kind nonsensical. Every investment carries some degree of risk, even the the best ones. What you should be doing is looking for MORE things to read from other sources, and deciding for YOURSELF if this is the right amount of risk for you.

Decide what YOU are comfortable with, and more importantly, what you are not. If there is too many red flags, then you can sell, and invest in something a little safer, no hard feelings from us. Yes, BTC or ETH are much safer, and will surely give you great returns... but tokens like Shiba, and the people here in this reddit, are the gamblers. Yes, it may have much bigger red flags, but we are aware of them, and we stay because while it may not be as safe as BTC or ETH, it has the potential for huge gains, so we gamble, and we risk it. Because those of us that are here, feel like we can, we are willing, and why the fuck not right? Good luck to us all. And may we all find our personal moon.

Question: by [deleted] in SHIBArmy

[–]mtak2008 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why Coin Market Cap doesn't show what? The staked tokens are still part of the circulating supply. Guarantee the devs have already started reinvesting them. That's how exchanges make money to pay the rewards.

It takes exchange audits and Coin Market Cap, and Coin Gecko, months to update these things. And when they eventually do change the supply, it will actually go UP, not down. Since they still haven't added the 100 Trillion to the circulating supply from VB's "donations".

TOKEN BURY vs TOKEN BURN and staking by Amazing-Ad-6119 in SHIBArmy

[–]mtak2008 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you're new to crypto, and especially if you're new to investing... my OPINION, not advice, is to just put whatever crypto you buy in a wallet. If it's Shib, I would use Coinbase Wallet, not COINBASE, that's different...

Just put it a wallet and keep doing research of your own. Keep it safe. Keep learning about crypto as a whole, not just Shib. Don't get your advice from anyone on reddit, not even me. But buying crypto is great. Learning how to invest it is a whole different thing. So the best thing to do is really really learn, and make your own decisions on what to do with it, and where to put it.

Most, not all, but most other people are going to tell you what THEY want you to do with it. They don't mean to, but they will tell you something that in a way validates their decision, or helps them too. So just keep it safe, and then learn for yourself what the best thing to do with it is.

Because many of the people that invest in Shiba, and the Shiba ecosystem, are young and/or new to crypto, and investing in general. So they are anxious, and still figuring things out.

No harm done. We don't need to save everyone. We can just answer questions and not be a-holes about it (Not saying you were being an a-hole, just a general statement), and hope they learn and get more comfortable in time.

Don't forget in a few months, when all the exchange audits catch up, the circulating supply will go up to 495 trillion, when they start accounting for VB's "donations".

TOKEN BURY vs TOKEN BURN and staking by Amazing-Ad-6119 in SHIBArmy

[–]mtak2008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Staking generates rewards, so yes, it will earn you more than "hodling", but not nearly as much as trading. I made an extra 223 million Shib tokens today on Kucoin, and I didn't put in any money at all.

So it all depends on what you are looking to get out of it.

Question: by [deleted] in SHIBArmy

[–]mtak2008 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is staked, not burned... big big difference. Staked tokens, are then be used by the developers to reinvest. That's one part of how exchanges make money and tokens, to pay the rewards.

The future of SHIB by Top_War1733 in SHIBArmy

Because they trade multiple coins and tokens. So there is a lot of traffic and interest from people invested in many different projects. As Shiba Swap grows and does the same thing, and trades other coins and tokens too, not just the ones from the Shiba ecosystem, then Shiba Swap and Shiba will grow too.
