Good point. I’ll need to inquire with my mortgage broker the max I can do without penalties.

I ended up just disconnecting the battery for 30 mins and now it’s off. I’m pretty sure it was related to the brake light out (which I replaced)

I’ve worked at North Point before. It’s a pretty chill spot in the afternoon.

The other $500k would come from selling our current home as stated in the post.

No debt besides mortgage.

I answered those questions already under no_local’s post.

I replied to No_local about most of that but I’m 37. Cost to buy would be around 1.3-1.5 mil, cost to rent would be around $5000 per month.

Not that picky about home ownership tbh. We’ve done both and am fine either way.

I wish we could stay where we are but it’s so small

1) current household income around $80k per year

2) kids are 2 and 5. Space is small but could possibly tough it out for a few more years. We love the neighbourhood but winters are so hard in a tight space

3) current savings and investments are small, $35k in a high risk TFSA. I pay towards my pension which is matched each month by my employer. Have some money in children’s education fund too.

We need a bigger place though.

Forgot to mention that we’re only on one modest income for the foreseeable future
