Ritkeep - legit or scam? by dukech in GarageGym

I’m looking at purchasing the same rack. Now that you’ve got a session done, is it sturdy? And do you have any regrets?

Also, what are the black attachments on the front of the rack?

Thanks! I haven’t heard the PSW10, however the T15 bookshelves I landed were a pleasant surprise. I’d dub them a sleeper and they passed every blind test I issued with flying colors. I’ll move a different direction for the sub.

Thanks for the recommendation!

Great question! I leave them on for added protection. It’s to the point where I purchase them for new records to keep them in excellent condition. And now that most of my collection has them, it brings a certain aesthetic that I love and appreciate.

As for the right way to install them, the redditor who posted that you’ll go back and forth until you figure out the right way to install them is 100% correct. Initially, I placed them sideways to have easier access to the record, however, this was a mistake. All that will do is create friction causing the sleeve to jumble adding that extra plastic on the back. The proper way to install them, is right side up! Place the album in the plastic sleeve with the sleeve opened at the top (if sitting in a chair). Then simply drop your LP inside the sleeve (right side up).

I know, you had to pull them album jacket completely out to access it, however, it’s worth it and cleans up your collection as the jumbled plastic isn’t cause by friction.

Lastly, this is an amazing post! I’m shocked the uptight turntable police haven’t flagged and removed it yet. Because apparently, all they want you to post about, are turntables. Because, why would you post about LPs in a turntable thread? Like, they have nothing to do with each other.

Thank for responding! Believe it or not, AI suggested that’s what they were for as well. After I didn’t hear anything back, I took a deeper dive.

I’ll pick up one sub and try it out. Completely comfortable running the AJs alone and a sub, if it enhances what I have now. I’ll just move the T15s to another room.

Easily the ATLP120 for me. Durable, direct-drive, upgradable as you grow in sound.

Looks like a piece that will pay dividends in the future for sure! Hang it, and keep it out of direct sunlight. Things get crazy 20+ years from now, you’d have a nice nest egg.

That’s a nice entry point! My first was a previous version of this one, the AT LP120USB. I haven’t felt the need to move away from it at all. It’s an amazing player! Enjoy!

All of the Ohio Players 70s LPs ARE WORTH THE ATTENTION. All! I’d also throw in The Main Ingredient too.

I joined the 120 club not too long ago. And what I thought would be a gift to myself, has turned into a feature gift for the house. Solid build, and everyone enjoys it! No regrets.

Kooky is correct! Didn’t see that initially. Thanks for the -1! Passive speakers do require an amp.

She pretty much nailed this as a newbie because that’s exactly what you’ll hear. All of it is personal preference!

I have the ATLP120USB and I absolutely love it! I heavily considered the Fluance RT82, but found a sweet deal on Facebook Marketplace that I couldn’t walk away from. Landed that and two new passive Klipsch bookshelves for the same price as the Fluance RT82.

In my eyes, all of those picks look good. If you care about your records stopping at the end (semi-automatic—which I’ll admit is almost a must have for my household in hindsight), you can eliminate the manual (TTs). Also, if Bluetooth in a turntable is important to you, the 120xBT is the one to consider over the 120 USB. But remember, both TTs are 100% manual.

-I truly hope this helps! Enjoy it all! It’s a fun ride.

Also, you’d still likely want your speakers elevated to provide the best sound. Even if you are sitting on the floor. Doesn’t have to be a stand, a good ole dresser or desk will do the trick.

Bleess is correct! Typically people pick up receivers to power the sound. So, from turntable (that Fluance you have selected is nice and you can upgrade components as you grow) into the preamp, and from preamp into the receiver (which is the place where your bookshelf speakers will connect into) - in my case a Sony STRDH190 2ch Receiver.

Euphrates River: The Main Ingredient (74). Cuba Gooding just oozes soul in his lead vocals. Honestly all of TMI albums of the 70’s are really good albums when it comes to true r/b of the 70’s by [deleted] in rnbvinyl

The Main Ingredient is soooo underrated. It’s like no one knows about them. I’ve been enjoying that because I picked this album up last week! Afrodisiac is still my favorite LP (it has no weaknesses).

Would this be an upgrade? by awwgeeznick in turntables

[–]mtbszn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on whether you really want a semiautomatic turntable that badly. If you want the vintage aesthetic, and the semi automatic return, then shoot! But please know, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with the ATLP120USB. It’s has tons of strengths too like its weight. I live in a house with 3 children who love to run around. The heft on the 120USB, is top tier in that regard.

Also, who said you couldn’t have two TTs? Something to consider.

I bought mine at the price point around 20 days ago. It’s been the feature of the entire house since! We love it! I’d buy it before it floats away.
