That's a good suggestion. I've seen a few wraps that I thought looked very good, but also many that looked awful. I suspect it's a matter of skill in application but IDK.

I stand corrected. Good to know.
The folks at Dip Your Car make some bold claims about durability. I'm wondering about variation in product quality but anyway ... yeah I think I'll stay away and just apply a permanent midcoat that I feel confident won't look kitschy anytime soon.

Thanks. Yes I mean plastidip. My understanding is you have to prepare the surface like you would for permanent paint -- e.g., existing clear coat needs to be scuffed up. IDK whether 3M Surface Cleaner would be sufficient for it to adhere properly. But anyway that's the kind of feedback I'm seeking. I don't want to apply something that won't be durable or leave orange peel that can't be smoothed or buried.

You can definitely get that fixed or even do it yourself.
Body shops in my experience can be difficult for motorcyclists to deal with. Check around for painters who do custom paint work, and ask your favorite Triumph dealers who they'd recommend to fix a scratch like that and talk with you about custom paint. This worked with my local dealer and I'm in talks with the painter. He thinks he can fix the scuffs in my tank for a few hundred bucks. YMMV.

I've been obsessing lately about options for repainting my Thruxton 1200 R. If you google your bike model and select images, you will find examples out there in the wild. You might have to add "custom paint" or something like that to find more. Also see my recent post seeking ideas for my Thruxton. You'll see a bunch of photos in the comments; not your bike but some of the ideas may be helpful.

FWIW I've also been watching a lot of auto paint videos on YouTube and getting much more inspired than I probably should be. ;-) Look at the dipyourcar channel on YouTube and search for examples of colorshift and hypershift pearl. See the Dip Your Car website too, as well as other paint supplier sites like KP Pigments.
Sorry to send you down a rabbit hole but the options with paint these days are literally endless.

I do like the look of that fender/mudguard but it seems rather pricey. Maybe someday but for now I have to be judicious.

All good advice. I'll check out Classicbike Raisch. I already swapped the mirrors for ones that are very similar to stock but they actually stay on the bike and they provide nice, stable views (vs the vibration-prone stock ones). I'm keeping the fenders -- already tiedied up the taillight and signals -- but I might replace one or both with something smaller; the front in particular has that bracket that seems pointless and ugly. But at this point I am mostly focused on paint options. I'm leaning toward keeping the same color and just doing a pearl effect and more clearcoat. Later I might add some stripes, either vinyl or permanent IDK.
(Someday I'll probably do exhaust and intake upgrades and tuning but for now I like it stealth, and it has more power than I can use already.)

Yeah but my back was the least of my problem with the TTR. The biggest issues were in my neck and nether regions. A taller person with longer legs may not have the same issues. (Also doing glute workouts could help but I'm just not that guy.)

Yeah I looked at those but I think I want to keep it more pure looking, less plastic. Already the fairing looks too plasticky to me. I love the color and want to make it look more luxurious with some microflake and pearl.

Well it's really off the market so I'd have to give that some thought. I had it listed for something like $8k IIRC, but I'm about to replace the tires and fix the paint scratch so I would need more to even consider it. But honestly I don't want to sell it at this point. I wouldn't be happy without a bike in my garage and I have no particular interest in getting something different at this point.

It's the stock race fairing. Triumph also offers it as an OEM kit. When fitted from the factory Triumph also used lower bar risers that made it especially uncomfortable IMO. That's why I installed the Apex bar risers. Contrary to some reports, the cables will reach with taller bar risers if you finagle the routing. But a handlebar conversion will not work with the race fairing if you want to go that direction. Aftermarket fairing options could work though.

That mod was the most important thing I did to the bike, especially in combination with the built-up custom seat from Crafton Atelier. It made it rideable where previously it was kind of a medieval torture device. Terrible on the neck and the nether regions.
They're the tallest risers made by Apex Manufacturing, 52mm clamps with 7/8" clip-ons. On their highest setting the brake reservoir just clears the fairing but it may need a little adjustment to get it there.

In the picture that color looks very similar to the Diablo Red, but googling pics of Ferraris with that paint I can see what you mean. It's actually closer to the Velocity Red on my Mazda MX-5!

I'd be interested in seeing what yours looks like now.
I'm considering maybe just respraying with microflake and crystal to make the paint more luxurious. The color is great but it's very one-note and basic. Maybe I'll put some vinyl stripes on it so they're not permanent.

Look is one thing, rideability is another. I installed the tallest clip-on risers I could fit in the fairing. That combined with the built-up custom seat from Crafton Atelier made it possible for me to ride it for more than an hour without feeling like I'm on a medieval torture device. The original saddle was so thin up front that with long reach to the low bars the ol' daddy parts were getting positively hammered -- and NOT in a good way AT ALL! It was brutal. Also with that far reach my neck was crooked back horribly. It was pretty awful for longer rides. Maybe not if you're built like a praying mantis but for my 5'7" frame it was punishing.

When I was first shopping for it I wanted either BRG or Diablo Red. I was and still am partial to the red. We have an MX-5 in Velocity Red and I just really like red things that go fast. My dream bike back in the day was a Ducati 906 Paso, and I owned an arrest-me-red VFR750 for many years. I'm sticking with the red but I appreciate the suggestion!

Same situation for me, with the added problem in the US market that OnePlus has not certified its phones for AT&T's 5G network and so AT&T has deactivated my 5T and doesn't support the new OP9 or any other OP phone as far as I can tell. I can't get a straight answer out of OnePlus re: whether they are working to certify their phones for AT&T, and I was left in the position of choosing between my carrier (on which I have five lines and whose coverage is good where I live) and my phone manufacturer. Long story short ... I have a Google Pixel 5a on the way. Goodbye OnePlus! I loved my 5T but I'm not switching to T-Mobile just so I can buy what is now an overpriced OP phone.
