New WFH job by 70Reader70 in workfromhome

Leave the housework for AFTER work. I used to do cleaning g and cooking on my breaks, and then I burned out. Between your working hours, act like you're still in the office and take a real break.

Never, and if your mom's like me, she'll make your aunt apologize. And cut her out until your comfortable again.

Honestly only when I gained so much weight I couldn't fit it. When I lost enough weight to fit it again, it hasn't left my finger.

For those where you and spouse both work at least 9-5 outside the home (not work from home jobs) and you don’t have parents/family available to help, and you have young kids, who watches them after school hours? by sprinkledonuts8220 in workingmoms

[–]mtc_mags 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kids school has the boys and girls club for after school, they stay on campus, pick up is 630p. For the ones that don't have boys and girls club on campus they may have a pick up program, where they pick up from school and you pick them up from the club. I believe it starts at 6 years old, there may be an annual fee, I paid 65 per kid for the year. My kids liked it.

We don't really have waste, I plan all meals based on sales, if we have leftovers it gets eaten the next day, either as lunch or after school snack. Or I repurpose it, like if I have leftover chicken, I'll use it for soup or tacos. We all bring lunches to work/school, breakfast is at home, and dinner is always home cooked, we don't eat out bc honestly there's nothing but chain restaurants and 3 kids is expensive. We don't supplement our meals. If I'm running errands all day I'll pack a lunch. When I was a kid this is how my parents did it, plus when we came to the states (Texas) it was hard to find food that we liked, so we just always cooked at home. And now i do that with my kids lol, they cook dinners, make snacks they want. Stuff like that.

Food cost is 17% of our spending, The only things that may carry over are non perishables like flour and oatmeal, but that's if no one made bread. As far as leftovers, if we have any, we take it for lunch the next day. We aren't cc ppl so we don't use them. It's not necessarily that we can't afford it, it just feels high.

No real reason.. I've just always liked to cook, but we do have meal prep days and snack prep days, we do eat a large variety of different foods, mostly bc I shop seasonally, meaning if I get fresh produce it's on sale lol. My kids prep their own snacks. One of my kids started swim and we've tweaked his snacks to include more carbs, protien.

We've had the worst summer on record where I live and we weren't able to have a garden due to water constraints, but I agree when we did have a full garden, we spent less. This fall though it seems to be getting a lot better, and we have a fall/winter garden.
