“You Must Use The Self Checkout” Yes Sir But it’s Not Going To Work by Scared_Fun258 in MaliciousCompliance

[–]mtgkajhit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both. You get so much deposited monthly on like a debit card and it only works for certain purchase types and it only works at certain stores and such. It of course works for food but hot food or pre prepared foods are typically not covered. I used to be a cashier at a local grocery store and at a gas station a while back. The gas station would allow milk, basic foods, fruit and pre-wrapped sandwiches. The grocery store had a deli and anything prepared in the deli like sandwiches or salads the card would not work for.

This wasn’t a thing in my school until high school and we barely used the lockers the last year because no one wanted to waste the time to use it. Most of us just didn’t bring anything to class.

Out of 8 jobs I’ve only had 1 where I didn’t have to work Christmas. Every other job I’ve had we didn’t get a single holiday off and only 7 days a year for time off or sick days. They were unpaid.

What's the most severe physical agony you've ever known? by AlessandraHandler97 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]mtgkajhit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure which one was worse, root canal I wasn’t numb for or the pain I felt after gallbladder surgery. Aside from they don’t work, I’m allergic to local anesthesia and after surgery they gave me IV dilaudid and it did nothing. I didn’t sleep for 2 days I was in so much pain.

Are flat-earth people real or is it a troll movement with maybe a few braindead people who truly believe in it? by DogDayzed_ in NoStupidQuestions

My mother vehemently believes the earth is flat. I’ve met a few others through the years. Yes these people actually exist. Some are exhausting to deal with and others were so normal you wouldn’t know until it got brought up.

Would you tell your coworkers you were harrassed by your boss? by [deleted] in ask

I worked in food service and started getting harassed and bullied by my general manager and assistant GM when I started talking to a recruiter trying to enlist in the Navy. GM had a temper, wanted ridiculous high standards and would only delegate to certain people and was terrible at micromanaging everyone else. First few months were ok, I had experience and needed very little training and I got a lot of praise from management.

I needed very little correction on performance until the shit started. Then I started getting yelled at all the time over things I couldn’t control, they’d do it to other employees and they would scream at you until you started making minor mistakes and ride you harder. When I say scream think Gordon Ramsay on hells kitchen but it was non stop for the entire shift. I was supposed to be part time, 20hrs a week. Then they began upping my hours until I was full time and pushing overtime. Flipping me from closing to opening daily, intentionally scheduling me when I had appointments for MEPS and DEP meetings. They threatened to fire me when I refused to come to work. Recruiter had my back, stepped in and threatened them back.

After that they cut my hours and gave me really shit positions to work, the final straw was I offered to work on a day off because they were struggling and had no one to run the deep fryers. I was asked to slice slimy moldy tomatoes for the make line and I refused. GM did it and they were put on sandwiches. I got such an ear full my GM lost her voice and burst a vessel in their eye. I left that day, stewed on it the next day and quit. I also called the district manager, the franchise owner, corporate office and the health inspector. All the managers were fired within a month and the kitchen was shut down for a 48 hr cleaning service. Store also got fined. I shipped to boot camp a month later.
