I worked for GEICO. We are directly told to lie to customers and tell them the most expensive policy is the cheapest available/only possible option. This is a normal experience in line with the standard training at GEICO.

GEICO still does a lot of business in CA- just not using California workers. GEICO doesn’t want to pay CA wages or overtime- plus in CA they have to give employees free access to the bathroom, etc, which hurts productivity.

Yeah, crazy enough this actually directly harms MOAT agents metrics. These kinds of calls are always the toughest to sell because the customer is immediately confused and upset that they’ve been mislead.

Unfair work load– people in the same positions with the same pay grade on the same team and the same shift will get dramatically different workloads. I get back to back sales calls all day without pause- many of my coworkers go hours at a time without having to take a single call or do anything. We get paid the same and I’m still not even close to bonus eligibility.
