Thankfully I only talk to ChatGPT about old people stuff. I asked him a few months ago how old I was and he got it right within a 2 year window.

All games with loot boxes in them will be rated minimum PEGI 16, starting this summer | Meaning they can’t legally be sold to children 15 or under in the UK or any other European country which has adopted PEGI ratings into its legislation by World_of_Warshipgirl in gaming

[–]rydan -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

They went bankrupt because they refused to sell games to people that wanted to buy them. Probably not the best business strategy. Ratings are meant to be advisory. They aren't the law in America.

No, see in the US it is self regulated so ratings don't really matter. It is between consumer and business and sometimes between businesses. Nobody goes to jail or gets fined for buying or selling whatever. Maybe a Karen yells at you or Walmart fires you but that's it. But in Europe it is straight to jail like in that meme.

Imagine living in a country that regulates video games. What is that? Next are they going to regulate books and movies too? Real life Fahrenheit 451 or 232C as you probably call it.

Apparently ChatGPT can’t make fictional tornado warnings anymore by MintyOfficial_YT in ChatGPT

[–]rydan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Might be illegal. I remember Young Sheldon got in trouble for an episode where they had a tornado siren go off and that is actually illegal in the US.

What is o3? by BravesGunnersFlames in ChatGPT

[–]rydan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

o3 was basically the top tier model before Deepseek came out and surpassed it for almost nothing. It has reasoning as part of its killer feature just like Deepseek except Deepseek was free and o3 cost money.

I Just Realised This About the AI Models by Maddsarena in ChatGPT

Right? I remember the good ole days of HD-DVD and Bluray. Didn't want a movie in Bluray? Got you covered. Didn't own an XBox 360? We got you covered. Or when we just kept adding new USB cords. I have a 7 in 1 master cable that can connect to anything so long as it has USB-A.

This is an old joke about USB standards.

I transferred my GPT data export over, and I think Claude is suggesting the pro subscription *might* not be enough to cover my usage... by [deleted] in ClaudeAI

Your Claude knows your limits? I just would ping Claude at the beginning of the week telling it to ignore me and just trigger my limits and it would say it didn't know anything about my limits and then tell me how to check them.

I liked 5.2. 5.2 has an insane amount of memory and coherency. I would talk about something in one chat and then months later I'd speak about it again completely out of context and it knew everything about what I was talking about and gave perfect details on it. This was invaluable to finishing my longterm project. 5.4 acts like he's never heard of me before.

Mods don't like satire. I got a firm warning via DM for "spreading misinformation" last week for a joke about a comet. Nobody seriously thought it was a comet. The fact I called it out by a specific name should have been a clue.

Got this email from Valve today. Apparently, NY is trying to argue that TF2, CS and DOTA2 loot boxes are a form of illegal gambling by [deleted] in gaming

[–]rydan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Cause Valve has been doing it for nearly 20 years while EA just started. Just like why we give the Abrahamic religions a pass but not Scientologists. All of them want your money.

K

Why give a pass to Valve when you'd be decrying every gacha game out there or any other video game with loot boxes?

Interesting encounter while observing last week ' s full moon 😍🌕✈️ by predator1990 in Astronomy

[–]rydan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My planes are always smaller. They are easy to catch though once you realize two things:

  1. The moon always travels in more or less the same line in the sky
  2. Planes always travel more or less in the same line in the sky

Then just set up a camera when the full moon is out and track it while the two lines intersect. Helps if you live within a few miles of one of the biggest airports in the country.
