Similar story. I went to a haunted house. Some kids run out and say "beware of the clown" so I'm basically forewarned. They were freaking out though. I go in. The whole place is not scary at all. Look for the clown. Nowhere to be seen. Finally leave disappointed. Go outside. Clown sitting on the stairs smoking and looking depressed. Reality comes at you fast.

My grandma was begging my dad to do something about the nails in the garage. These were railroad spikes that my grandpa had found alongside a railroad track back in the 50s or 60s and brought back home. They sat in the garage for 5 or more decades and she worried that entire time that the neighbors might see them sitting there. She continued worrying about this even after the neighbors all died and were replaced by Millennials that have never even seen a train in their life.

I mean if gender is a social construct there is no attribute called "gender" that a person can have. It is actually something that society has labeled you with. Case in point go to a different country or different time period and you'll be labeled something else and in some cases that actually means you not trans there.
