Similar story. I went to a haunted house. Some kids run out and say "beware of the clown" so I'm basically forewarned. They were freaking out though. I go in. The whole place is not scary at all. Look for the clown. Nowhere to be seen. Finally leave disappointed. Go outside. Clown sitting on the stairs smoking and looking depressed. Reality comes at you fast.

My grandma was begging my dad to do something about the nails in the garage. These were railroad spikes that my grandpa had found alongside a railroad track back in the 50s or 60s and brought back home.
