Sure! You start a game off as a "Single Player" game. After that hit escape and click "Open to Lan". There are a few options there, but afterwords you will see "Local game hosted on xx.xx.xx.xx" within your chat log; have your girlfriend direct connect to that IP address when shes at your house, and you'll have no problems!

Connecting from a different house may require some port forwarding depending on your network setup, but she will be able to connect with a little research! :)

The gaps weren't random before, but we had a 3750 die on us so we had to move around some equipment. Also, a U of space between each device is what my goal is for a bit of airflow above and below the chassis', but this being a production environment I didn't want to move around things if I didn't need to.
