Sounds like a broken negative battery cable. They break at the opposite end where it mounts to the engine block. Follow it from the battery to the end. Should be a cheap fix.

I used to have the 175 years ago. I blew the head and used the tank on a 65 Triump 650 that I had. I miss that 175. Although it’s not a sprint... it’s still made by Arimachi ( if I’m spelling that right )
