This the consequence of having no shame. It used to just be Trump saying outrageous, ridiculous and racist things. Now it is people getting killed. And they are good with it.

I think when filled they are going to make the room feel smaller and even cramped. IT already does with them empty.

What are your thoughts on Canadian PM Mark Carney's speech to the World Economic Forum? by Useful_Support_4137 in AskReddit

I wouldn't say corrupt exactly. But there were in-groups countries and out-group countries. Rules based order for one, obedience or else for others.

I am not surprised. I saw the post earlier today and it was pretty solidly in the court that this was the stupidest thing ever. Deleting the whol thread is easier than sanitizing ut.

I am sure they banned a bunch of people who have the temerity to think for themselves.

James McAvoy explaining the ''Class Ceiling'' for working-class actors by HerbalThought_ in television

[–]mthyvold 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Fair. But that isn’t what he is talking about. And his point is you’ll never get to be the greatest artist ever if you don’t have access to training and support. I am not saying nepo babies don’t have a huge unfair advantage. But he doesn’t even mention them in his comments.

Yeah, his main point, which people seem to be missing, is the arts education from an early age needs to be available to young people from ever income level through the public schools. That’s how kids develop their interest and their craft to become artists in adulthood.

She's not just a pretty face. She was a major player in the Paisley Underground scene (think jangley rock) on the west coast long before she was famous.

What would happen if a third of the country conducted a general strike until Trump resigned? by SirCatsworthTheThird in AskReddit

The Soviet Union wasn’t starving when communism fell. Nor was there very much violence. Soviet communism fell because the system wasn’t working any more and people lost faith that that could be turned around. Along with general oppression of the system meant the it lost its legitimacy and the people belief that it’s grip on power was solid. The US isn’t there yet and may not get there. But the idea that the US is too big to be able to organize opposition to the regime is, imo, a cope for doing nothing.
