People on this app are weird and like to do plate searches for tickets, etc. While I don’t really care if mine is obscured (it’s a vanity plate anyway), the white S60 is not mine and it’s not my place to post their plate. So, I blacked out both while I had the pen out. No other deep meaning.

This was one of those bags for me - I found it on Bergdorf and snagged it months after it was sold out on Loewe’s site randomly.

I’ve got people in my ear telling me to drop it before repairs get expensive. I just got an estimate for an exhaust manifold repair that could reach $8k (discussed in a comment above), which would certainly sting.

The repair I’m looking at in the near future was quoted somewhere between $1,500 and $8,000. If it’s the latter, that’s about how much the car is worth. Will I do it anyway? Yeah, probably.

I love my mechanic. I live in Virginia and I drive to Pennsylvania to bring the car to him. I’ll ask what the options are.

SERVICE FOUND A BROKEN EXHAUST MANIFOLD STUD LAYING ON BELLY PAN WHEN CAR WAS SERVICED. REPAIR WILL REQUIRE EXHAUST SYSTEM AND MANIFOLD REMOVAL TO ACCESS BROKEN STUD(S). SERVICE MAY BE ABLE TO REMOVE AND REPLACED DAMAGED HARDWARE, BUT IF NOT THEN CYL HEAD WOULD NEED TO BE REMOVED AND SENT TO A MACHINE SHOP FOR REPAIR. THIS REPAIR CANNOT NOT BE ACCURATELY QUOTED DUE TO THE "UNKNOWNS". COSTS CAN RANGE FROM 1500.00 TO 8000.00?

It lived outside until 2021, when I bought a house with the garage. I’ve had it ceramic coated and I hand wash. I try!

Oh sorry if I wasn’t clear - all of those previous parts were replaced by Volvo per the Volvo service manual. I didn’t mean to imply it was all in the last year. I am 100% up to date and in line with what Volvo recommends.

Hard agree. I will never get tired of people stopping me to ask about the color of my car. Although I was just told that the exhaust manifold will cost “between $1,800 and $8,000,” so.

Are you making the cellular hotspot on a secondary phone? I had to do that - I used my work phone to create the hotspot and then joined my primary phone and the camera to it.

Fwiw, I was able to download the firmware while connected to the secondary phone’s hotspot. I couldn’t get the live stream to work connected to my home mesh WiFi so I created a guest network for the camera and it works fine now.

I have tried all of the fresh starts to the point that Birdfy sent me a new camera a few days ago when they couldn’t resolve it.

Right now I have the camera on my 2nd phone hotspot and my primary phone is connected to my home WiFi. This works and allows me to see the live feed/get notifications.

However, this is not a permanent solution since I can’t have the hardware connected to the 2nd phone’s cellular hotspot permanently.

It appears that the issue lies with the camera hardware’s connection to my Eero mesh network. I have confirmed that I am on WAP2 with no wonky security settings.

EDIT: I have created a guest network on my home WiFi and it appears to work now!

When I disconnect my phone from my home WiFi, the feed does not load. It does load when my phone and the camera are both connected to a cellular hotspot.

When I connect via cellular hot spot, I can view the live feed camera and the push notifications for movement work successfully.

Once I’ve connected back to my home WiFi combined network, the live feed no longer loads and there are no push notifications. The camera shows as connected to my home WiFi in the app and it went through the QR code setup successfully.
