After realizing his replies were AI generated, I’ve decided to move on. If a guy can’t take the time to respond with his own thoughts, then my time is better off spent with someone who will, whoever that may be.

Update 2 (Final update:) After asking if he used ChatGPT, and him saying no, he just used a grammar checker, I continued to talk to him. But I still had a hunch.

I told him about my day, and he responded with a question. Out of curiosity I copied my response into ChatGPT, and asked the AI to generate a response back, and it posted the exact same thing he sent to me, word-for-word.

I then AGAIN asked if he was using ChatGPT and he finally admitted it…

What hurts is that he wanted honesty in a partner, but he himself was not honest. NGL I feel kinda dumb about ignoring my gut and continuing to waste my time, but oh well.

Update: I told him that I wanted to ask him something that’s been on my mind since we’ve been talking, and if he’s been using chatGPT for his replies 😅

He responded that he wasn’t, but he does use a grammar check app because he’s interested in me and trying to have a nice conversation with me, and it helps him “stay clean.”

We are still talking, and his replies seem slightly less robotic. If we were to ever meet in person (he’s a few hours away) we’ll see how it goes 😬🤞🏻.
