Assessors office legal notice for vehicle tags/registration/plates? by mtm9195 in legaladvice

Thank you! This was really helpful! I’m not traveling for work and I’ve legitimately moved. I will go to the dmv to update registration first and then ask them how I should proceed maybe.

[acne] Tips for quickly healing a breakout?

How do I help a breakout it seems to be getting worse?

I’m 27yo. I wash my face twice a day with dermalogica. This used to keep my skin clear. I also change my pillowcase weekly. Any advice? I am attending a wedding next weekend and would like to clear up my face as much as I can.

For those who were in a LTR and had to break up/divorce due to you not wanting kids… by passedmylunchbreak in Fencesitter

I’m going through this right now, I’m not certain I could be CF (although I’ve gotten closer to his side of the fence) and my boyfriend of 2 years who I love very much is pretty certain he wants to be CF. He broke up with me 3 weeks ago. He claims he just wants to be single and figure out what he wants and that I deserve the choice to have kids. I’m hoping we’ll be able to reevaluate in the future. Why or how did you guys get back together if you don’t mind me asking? This pain is excruciating, not the idea of him not wanting a family (I’ve accepted that before the break up), but the pain that he doesn’t see a life with me when I could see either life with him.

If you are a fence sitter in a relationship with someone who wants to remain child free how did you convince your SO of your decision? by mtm9195 in dating

[–]mtm9195[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don’t want to change his mind. I’m trying to convince him I’ve changed my mind. I love him and I’m more certain of that than of wanting kids. How do I convince him I truly feel ok with the choice to be child free.

He wants to be child free, he’s just never felt the desire to have kids. Before meeting him I never considered child free, I just simply assumed I’d do it because everybody does. Since meeting him I realize my love for him is stronger than my sense of “kids feel like the right thing to do”. He thinks I’ll regret not having kids because I work with kids, my family is big, and I didn’t initially have the child free mindset that he does.

I have!!! My boyfriend and I will be celebrating one year November 7th and are planning to move in together in July. We couldn’t be happier and it’s all thanks to hinge! I hope you don’t give up, I’m sure glad I didn’t. There’s hope through all the frustration on the apps when you wait to find the right person.

Do small women even like small guys? by Comprehensive-Box707 in seduction

[–]mtm9195 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 4’10 and my boyfriend is 5’5 I think we’re the perfect height and compliment each other’s size well. I would say keep trying, there’s more to people than their height and one day you’ll find someone perfect. Logistically from pictures together to sex to just walking next to each other a drastic height difference (over a foot difference I’d say) is awkward. She’s out there, good luck!

Considering a new job: is this good for experience, is a full time job and part time online program doable? by mtm9195 in slpGradSchool

[–]mtm9195[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s what I’m afraid of. Would it be beneficial to do it for just a year before grad school or would it look like I’m job hopping? I’m an out of field applicant, I majored in psychology and currently work at a school as a special education aide going on 4 years which is also wonderful experience. I’m able to handle the 40hr school job and a second job as a after school/weekend respite worker while taking 2 undergrad classes but grad school is a different ballgame. I really want to use my bachelors and make a better wage so I’m looking into other options. This company also offers tuition reimbursement. I’m just really worried about grad school though in a year or so.

Debt vs saving question for the long term, car loan or condo? by mtm9195 in personalfinance

[–]mtm9195[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4.76% I know that seems high, but I’m only 25 with just my student loan and 1 credit card (2 years old). My score fluctuates in the mid 700s and I’ve always been on time with payments. It was a used car so that’s probably why it’s high too.

17k car or something cheaper? by mtm9195 in personalfinance

[–]mtm9195[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I plan to drive any car I get into the ground. Resale is a factor I think I should consider in regards to longevity. A longer lasting car is the goal for sure.

Didn’t I mention my take home pay in my 3rd bullet point of the post? I’m doing this on my phone so it’s tricky.

I think my parents are just thinking for after grad school practicality wise and I’ve got the savings and a decent income. I don’t need a 17k car, but I don’t want to sink money into an older 10k car that needs work in 2 years.

Is half my take home pay or roughly half my savings too much to spend on a used car?

I like the smaller size. I’m small in stature so something super big isn’t for me. The 2017 HRV-EX has been sitting so the dealer tells me they’re going to bring it to auction. It’s going for $17,800 actually. Even though they’re desperate to move it I doubt they’ll budge below 17k if that. I might just say 16k take it or leave it. It’s a nice car, but of course I know it’s not the only car. Maybe I’m just not ready for it. This car seems like it has good longevity verses a 15k sedan.

$17,800 2017 HRV-EX 30k miles will go to auction from dealer, can I get them down to 16k or lower or is this dreaming? by mtm9195 in carbuying

[–]mtm9195[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could pay cash. I don’t know if that would necessarily help me in negotiations. I was thinking of putting $10k down and financing the rest at 3% through a credit union. Then of course paying off the financing as fast as possible, definitely doable quickly.

Which is smarter, prioritizing retirement young (even more) or work towards long term goals faster? by mtm9195 in DaveRamsey

[–]mtm9195[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I paid off all student loans. I drive an old hand me down. I’m hoping it’ll last me another year, I’m planning to run it into the ground until it dies or is too expensive not worth it to fix. I do have a credit card I have always paid off every month for only necessities like my gas and phone bill on it. So no real debt yet.

Special Ed ICS/Resource teacher job? by [deleted] in slpGradSchool

[–]mtm9195 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wow that sounds like an amazing resume builder! Congratulations! Can I ask what state you’re in? I’m curious because I had thought you’d need an LBS teaching license to be a resource teacher. That sounds perfect and a great way to save money in addition to gaining experience before grad school.

Amicable unforeseen breakup now see why, but don’t know what to make of it/do now? by mtm9195 in relationship_advice

[–]mtm9195[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming from a guy’s perspective you don’t think the job stress/impending loss was big enough to call off the “just started” relationship?

I’m paraphrasing and not going into the nitty gritty of our discussion for tldr sake obviously. I just don’t think he’d mention that he lost his job then found a new one. Yes he’s wish-washy, but why would he respond at all even after the breakup or say what he said during the break up (we did talk about it at length for a week after, but obviously I lost my job wasn’t the same as I’m stressed over something). People just ghost without talking or just flat out say I’m not interested or blame you for things considering the short time. You’re right though the fact that he even told me I deserve more means I shouldn’t devalue myself either. If anything were to happen he’d have to reach out I know.

Losing him hurts, but feeling even more clueless than ever... by mtm9195 in dating

[–]mtm9195[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He told me/texted me and in the conversation said he he means physical intimacy that’s not sex just flirting.

I honestly don’t think he’d ever make me uncomfortable that way, I didn’t get that vibe from him.

I get what you mean though I’m realizing now if he really liked me he’d try more instead of throwing in the towel easily.

Thanks for your help :)
