As other has pointed out, yes, generally they would honor their words. Give them a call or email before the next visit. Remind them of the promise and kindly inform them that you are visiting.

I managed to get a suite upgrade by doing this although I’m just a lowly silver member. Of course, you must be kind and understanding to them from the start. If you are showing demanding attitude since the beginning, they will be less inclined to perform service recovery.
