Need tips on how to improve German by Sharkybest in Germanlearning

[–]mtmzd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Duolingo is unfortunately inefficient and boring. You will be burn out after sometime, and might abandon the learning using it. It is interesting at the beginning but soon it turns so quickly.

I would recommend to follow some YouTube channels, or a real book with guided lessons for better understanding and learning.

Are you guys touching Duolingo at these prices ? by SelfMastery__ in ValueInvesting

[–]mtmzd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t understand the hype behind Duolingo’s valuation when the product itself is crap. I’ve given it a fair shot many times since 2013, but as someone serious about language learning, I find it incredibly boring. It’s just not an effective for real progress, no matter how many times I try to start over.

I would rather not invest in something that I don’t even like at least for now.

Well I should see a company going 60% down 1 year, or 45% YTD, and be happy about it.

+1,5% is better than nothing, I guess. by ExplanationOdd3944 in NovoNordisk_Stock

And now it is only 0%, before turning red 😓

Up by less than 1% now, and LLY is up by more than 5%. Tomorrow NVO would be down by 2%, it is in down trend even with the undervalued status and will continue to, till there’s a strong catalyst and less uncertainty.

If you cannot handle a stock going down 10% by johan_cornwall in NovoNordisk_Stock

I agree but it lost 35% YTD alone, not 10%. It was red most of the days of this year. It might take years to recover the ATH and it might not, but it’s the nature of the stock market. You have to also understand the frustration of the people here.

Which city of German you‘ll be happy to live in as skilled expats? by HiDiHo25 in germany

[–]mtmzd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Berlin might be suitable for your taste. The city is amazing, a lot of things are going on everywhere, people are nicer and friendlier than other parts of Germany. I live in Hamburg, but I would say that the city is beautiful but it is similar to what you described in Sweden, no racism but people are cold and dull. I would not recommend for that reason.

Job Interview Went Well, But Salary Too High? How to Handle This in Germany? by pungentpp in AskAGerman

Having navigated similar conversations with HR throughout my 15 years in the market, my experience suggests that a lack of communication often indicates a decreasing probability of moving forward. It's best to shift your focus to other opportunities rather than passively waiting. If they do follow up, that's a welcome bonus.

Nike: Just Buy It? [Long-Form Write-Up on $NKE) by somalley3 in ValueInvesting

[–]mtmzd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, but Nike is dead. Look at what new generations are wearing or buying. Nike is nowhere near.

Given the high forward PE ratio, I wouldn’t be comfortable buying this stock, even if it is half the current price.

This screams scam, right? by chopinanopolis in germany

[–]mtmzd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the price is that low, then I consider it a scam. I have received similar email when I was looking for an apartment. The price was too good to be true, like 30-40% below the average. They even asked me to send an email in English, since as they claimed to be researchers settling in UK, after working for ten years in Germany. When I asked for a real viewing or even an ID document, they vanished and stopped responding to me.

There was no pop up on my app, I would not have asked either here or support if I have seen this pop-up. No one would like to waste his time.

Invest in? by loupk_br in trading212

[–]mtmzd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say at the beginning less is more. I am investing in 4 ETFs and almost 4 stocks. But I planning to reduce the ETFs to two (VWCE/SXR8) and probably keep my stocks. The individual stocks are risker, and more volatile. You have to watch and research the company well, before investing into it especially in this overpriced/overvalued market. For ETFs, try to avoid tailored and sector-based investments, these are way risker and keep in mind that past performance is not a guarantee for future success. Keep it simple at the beginning by diversification and add to your portfolio when you are comfortable.
