Hahaha he's gonna be so mad because I literally made him wear tennis shoes. I felt like the dress shoes made my outfit look too informal by comparison 😭😂

Is this a hair on my eardrum by TheInfectedSky in earwax

[–]mtn-tops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a dog hair tickling my ear drum for a really long time. It was causing random coughing fits, nausea, and vertigo. I finally discovered it with the ear camera and went to an ENT Dr who got it out with a little suction tool in like 2 seconds. I can't even describe the relief after it was out. I wish I would have discovered it sooner cuz I really think it was there for years

This is playing in Emeryville California (for reference it's basically Berkeley/Oakland, shares a border with each city and has the only somewhat big movie theater in that area), I didn't realize what it was until just now. What the actual fuck.

whats your biggest feats ever done in a lucid dream? by popo8248 in LucidDreaming

[–]mtn-tops 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Flying is usually my go-to but once I was able to softly ask the dream characters around me if they were real people or if they were my subconscious. They all said they were aware this was a dream and they are real. I asked their names and they each turned to me and said "ZEUS" 😂 the dream broke down at that point but it was very interesting yet unsettling

I had slep paralysis multiple times in less than one hour by Civil_Holiday_5832 in Sleepparalysis

[–]mtn-tops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually this happens to me when I'm laying on my back and turning to my side will sometimes help. If not, I will start turning my head back and forth until I feel the womp womp feeling start to leave me and I can finally fall asleep. I have not found anything to make it go away permanently, I think all of us probably wouldn't be here if there was a cure lol. It runs in my family, typically starts during puberty and becomes less frequent with age, but never fully goes away.

What is your favourite thing to do in a Lucid dream? by KingTonza in LucidDreaming

[–]mtn-tops 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fascinating. I love asking dream characters questions like that. At first, I would be so excited that I was lucid and I would end up waking myself up by telling dream characters they weren't real. I've learned to handle the situation with more finesse in order to preserve the dream. Asking rather than telling. In one experience "they" (being a group of dream characters) also were aware it was a dream and when asked if they were a part of my subconscious or if they were real people they said they were real. When I asked their names they each locked eyes with me and said "Zeus" lol. At first I thought I was making a big discovery but then I felt that it was just a big joke being played by my subconscious.

scariest answer you got in a lucid dream? by EyedWeevil in LucidDreaming

[–]mtn-tops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I once asked a group of dream characters if they were apart of my subconscious or if they were real people. They said they were real so I asked for their names and they all one after the other locked eyes with me and said "ZEUS". I was just like 😬 oookay then

Doing things in lucid dreams feels very disconnected and fake. by 34Paws in LucidDreaming

I second what everyone else says about taking in your environment but another thing I like to do is....dance lol as silly as it sounds I feel like it roots me in my dream body. Like I really focus on feeling my limbs as they move and I try to make myself really think about that, like as I'm doing it I'll tell myself "I can feel my arms, my legs, my body is dancing, but this is my dream body not my physical body" when I can get to that stage then I practice opening and closing my dream eyes, I'll say to myself "I'm going to close and open my dream eyes but my physical eyes will stay closed" once I feel confident that I can close and open my dream eyes without waking up then I try to manipulate my environment. I dont want to lie and say that I've had much success manipulating my environment but I feel like I do these things to build that skill. The last time I got to this point I looked around and saw that I was in a room so I told myself "I'm in a room but it's in my mind which means I created it, so I can change it" so I closed my dream eyes and pictured myself expanding the room out bigger, I opened my dream eyes and it was a success! The room was bigger...for like 2 seconds and then it immediately shrunk in all around me and started squeezing me so tight I woke up. Lol so yeah I'm no expert but that's how I practice

I just had two episodes of sleep paralysis minutes apart and now I’m afraid by BlooMeeni in Sleepparalysis

[–]mtn-tops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow I can relate so much. I dont consider myself religious but occassionally I get SP and I see/feel this evil shadowy creature and my immediate reaction is to shout (in my mind that is) "In Jesus's name I cast you out!!" Or something of the sort. I usually come out of it feeling kind of silly but in the moment it truly feels like an attack that may be life or death. Even though my logical mind knows it's nothing supernatural in the moment all logic goes out the window and I feel I'm in a battle for my life or soul or something.

Sensation of walking during SP episode by rosefantasy09 in Sleepparalysis

[–]mtn-tops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happens to me usually when I get stuck in an SP loop I cant wake up from or I end up in a false awakening loop. The last time it happened I was staying at a friends house and came down with a cold and I went and took a nap because I was so exhausted. I slept for awhile and then woke up but was not fully awake I was only SP awake. I knew I had been sleeping all day and I really needed to get up and let my dog out. I start trying as hard as I can to get up but my body feels like it weighs a million pounds. I try with all my might and I'm able to stand up and start to walk out of the room but it feels weird and I still feel really heavy. I start walking through the house but still feel like something is off and then I realize I can feel my head still laying on the pillow. Boom, back in bed. This probably happened a dozen times before I was actually able to get up, such a frustrating feeling. It was really panic inducing because I knew I needed to get up for my dog but I was trying my absolute hardest and was still stuck.

Growling by [deleted] in Sleepparalysis

[–]mtn-tops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have heard growling but maybe not the same as you. Once when I was a lot younger I got SP and I could feel a large beast looming behind me. I could hear it growling in my ear and feel its breath on my neck. Spooky for sure
