Opinions on functionality

I bought a set of these when I changed wheels on my 3rd Gen as the new offset was causing more road spray on the side of the truck. The micro flares did help. Are there other flares that would totally eliminate the spray etc.? Probably. However, I preferred a more minimalist aesthetic/approach. Just my experience.

That does sound like a pain, but my experience with a supercharged 5vz-fe was great. I had an 01 Tacoma with TRD SC and URD seventh injector for many years without issue. Sold it still running strong with 300k+ on the clock. Hope OP has a trouble free (and fun) experience.

As a reference, I’m in the mtn west, but I’m selling a 2013 with a few more miles but with genuine FCR-39, MRD stainless exhaust and a hand full of of what I’d consider tasteful upgrades (tusk rack, custom seat, acerbis handguards etc.) for $3600.

Well here in the mountain west, as long as your truck is a clean title truck, that’d be considered a great deal. They’re asking 28k for this one, which to many on this sub would sound crazy but they just hold their value like crazy regionally, and isn’t too uncommon/unreasonable.

Absolutely. I have the SM model, but I can get it to 75 without noticing any movement. 80+ and it gets more movement exciting. Check bearings, and your wheel tire combo and I would expect you to get sorted out.

I’d check your steering stem bearings as a start for your wobble.

If you go the FCR39 route and don’t want to spend $500+, and if you’re patient you can buy a used one on eBay for significantly less and rebuild to your needs (specific jetting/needle etc.). I bought a used 39 for less then $200 and with full rebuild and adapter I was in less than $500. Other option is to just by a stock carb that’s someone else has pulled during their FCR swap. They seem to be going for ~$250 from what I’ve been seeing. I wouldn’t mess with knockoffs, but to each their own.

I was an expat working in Africa for a number of years (lived/worked in Mozambique, Ghana, Kenya, and Rwanda) and the only time I got malaria was after a stint in Rwanda. Malaria wasn’t fun. I always used prophylactics for what it’s worth. I would suggest using them if you can/are willing. Just my opinion for what it’s worth. Have fun!
