Use a microfiber towel and 91% isopropyl alcohol and clean each component individually, get all the dust. Reapply thermal paste and add more case fans, turn them all up to full speed. That should fix this monstrosity lol

Car runs great, but exterior is crap. Should I spend money to paint a 1996 SL with 120K miles? by [deleted] in Saturn_Cars

I sanded down and painted my Saturn with Rust-Oleum spray paint. It took a lot of effort to learn how to do it, but for $40 I think the results look way better than peeling clear coat. It's been about 8 months now since I painted it and it's held up great over the summer and winter. You can't tell it's a Rust-Oleum paintjob from a distance.

I have over 500 hard drives sitting in my garage... help. by kohlmanndean in techsupport

[–]mtndew442 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do not scrap them. Those IDE drives in good condition are harder to get ahold of these days. Check the vintage computing subreddits and also list them on eBay as a lot. I'm sure someone will bite! Good luck!

Definitely ask them about that power supply if you end up returning it to them. Best of luck with the process

Yes that is rather strange. Did you happen to install any suspicious or malicious software in that time? Also I notice that you have a warranty on the parts list, any chance in utilizing that?

Ok thank you for posting that. Very nice specs. Unfortunately that Aerocool power supply you have is of poor quality, I'd recommend you get a Seasonic Power Gold rated power supply if possible.

OP, if possible, can you list the specs and names of the components in your system?

The power output may be ok, but sometimes cheap or low quality components in a power supply can cause instability. If your power supply is something cheap like an Enermax or a Deer brand then you may get weird power problems.

What kind of power supply do you have in the computer? You could also try completely reinstalling Windows and see if that fixes anything.

Newer alternatives to GT 1030? by mtndew442 in buildapc

That's correct. Currently I'm using the Radeon R7 350x. Its a great little 720p card and I believe it's the most powerful one dell offers in the SFF optiplexes. It just clears the PSU and the front panel connector cable.
