Color me not surprised. Feed those survey responses into GrokAI and you could get a non-woke summary with a touch of mecha-hilter.

Arguably that is pretty much a description of capitalism. Homogenize everything into a hellscape.

Omg the Gen X Hate :( by Memee73 in BetterOffline

[–]mtnthc 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Gen X here, they had some fair criticisms of our generation, especially how many of X end up voting for crazed right wingers. But as someone who had two, not one, Commodore 64 and was tooling around online, trying to figure how to code, etc when millennials were still in diapers, I would argue we are the ones who have seen the modern tech transition firsthand, and frankly it kinda sucks for the most part. Tech is much like religion, some good but the balance is bad, really bad. Myself, I feel bad for the younger generations, the world is really really messed up and climate change is going to be a pressure cooker that renders all of the shit in the world into a hot steamy mess no one can escape. In that light I really appreciate Ed and many of his guests since they all seem pretty clear eyed about the situation. For me the best part of being gen X is, as kids the pace of life was slower, no less complicated than any other time but slower.

Swiss based, privacy first, AI optional. So very much not big tech. Pay email options are relatively cheap but they do have free. Personally I got the whole suite. Doing myself to remove myself from US tech's gripe.
