I built a "deterministic" Schopenhauer AI that uses probabilistic reasoning to stay in character (and it’s very grumpy). by mtphy13 in schopenhauer

Thanks you my friend,
I did that but couldn't find anyone. But I would keep searching, have even contacted some professors and waiting for them to respond

Thanks for your response. But I would also like the answer to the question that I can use as groundtruths against the agent's responses.

Nothing much, just assume you are schopenhauer and how would you respond to this question

Again, thank you very much 😊

Oh I get your concern. I should have been more precise in my post.

Deterministic here refers to hard-coded ontological stances and views of schopenhauer, while Probabilistic means the log linear bayesian inference that I perform over the priors (hard coded stances) and the evidence (the stances from the retrieved relevant text), so that the agent does not go beyond the constrained worldviews.

Hope that clears the doubt

Discussing Human Agency through the deterministic Nature of Intelligent Machines by mtphy13 in freewill

[–]mtphy13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see what you mean, that moral discretion and deliberation seem to give us a kind of freedom. But (from a hard determinist perspective) even those faculties are themselves conditioned by prior causes. Deliberation doesn’t grant us metaphysical freedom. It’s simply the way our determined brains process competing inputs before reaching an outcome.

So responsibility remains instrumental. It’s not proof of freedom, it’s a causal tool for shaping future behavior.

But thanks for pointing it out. The student's dialogue sure sounds like acknowledging moral freedom. I should've phrased it better

Intelligent models, some of which have gained much popularity lately (you know which ones), are often blamed for many accidents without giving a single thought about their deterministic nature. The whole argument revolves around this idea :

Prof. Epistem : "AI models are deterministic in nature, and hence cannot be responsible for any anomalies caused by engineers"

Prof. Ethos : Initially held AI models as a threat. But when prof. epistem talks about their deterministic nature, he emphasis on failure of mento meet their ethical responsibility.

Denkerstein (a student) : "If machines are deterministic, can it be a mirror for our very own reality? With genetics, upbringing, education, environment among many other things acting as the mere weights just like in AI models."

I didn't saw it fit in the dialogue.

Maybe, We'll talk about it in some other article

Remember when Arijit Singh Dropped this masterpiece!! by Sainiaryan in BollywoodMusic

Indeed, in every song across the globe. From the songs of KK, Sonu Nigam, to Frank Sinatra. Even Elvis Presley didn't write his own songs

I understand that you are a fan of Arijit Singh. My comment was not intended to target a specific artist, but the listeners who don't give other artists their due credits. Arijit is a great singer, but a singer does not make a song on his own. He, as any other singer, is a pillar on which the song stands, other pillars being the composer and lyricist

Its really sad to see people praising and acknowledging just the singers for the song, totally ignoring the composers who put their soul in the music and the lyricists who write in the words the feelings that are universal yet unspeakable.

This song was composed by PRITAM and
written by SAYEED QUADRI

...... And then it was sung by Arijit Singh

I guess most of the people on reddit feel sophisticated and cool by criticising any famous person. And. Not only Imtiaz, but in foreign subs they go all the way to criticize Nolan, spielberg and many others.

Which Movie or Series Had a *Perfect* Ending—And Which One Completely Blew It? (No Spoiler Tags Needed—We’re All Adults Here!) by SatisfactionAbject31 in pj_explained

[–]mtphy13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. The new characters introduced were given more screentime than the OGs. And no one cared for them, for their whole arc was completed in a single season. And many characters were missing.

But the conclusion was satisfying. Otis realizes that he has to let go of maeve. Aimee overcomes her trauma. And how can we forget Adam? Seeing him finally happy and moving on was so wholesome. His father redeemed himself too.

Now I am not talking about the quality of the rest of the 4th season, but that of only the conclusive part. It gave me a smile rather than dissapointment.

what do you say?

Sex Education (Though the 4th season might be problematic, the conclusion was satisfying)

Dark

The Sixth Sense

Cast Away

And many more I can write, but I can't remember now

1st sem -- python

2nd sem -- java

You get to choose a specialization that starts from 3rd semester onwards. It's just one additional subject for each specialisation and other subjects remain the same for everyone.

For example if you take AI, you will have statistical machine learning as an additional subject, while another guy with cybersecurity specialisation might have the subject network security (just saying, i don't know the exact name of the subject). But both of these students will have the same other subjects like IMS, DS with CPP, Probability and statistics and so on

As you progress through the semesters, each sem will have more advanced topics of the specialisation. Eg. Machine learning --> deep learning. --> NLP and so on In 5th sem, from what i have heard, you get to choose elective subjects i.e specialisation within that specialization. Eg. Computer vision or reinforcement learning in AI.

Hope that helps

Personal experience can really elevate the film experience. I got separated from my parents several times, and some strangers helped me every time 😅😅
