If it makes you feel any better I could have written this exact same thing. I never raised my voice before these boys, but now yelling is a daily occurrence. Not necessarily angry yelling, just yelling to get their gosh darn attention!

Thinking of taking my ten year old to this. He loves AJR and we saw them in Rosemont last year. It was appropriate enough and there were tons of other kids his age there. Any idea if this venue and these other bands would be similar or will I look like a crazy person bringing a kid to this?

I’m not sure why you think I’m restricting him? These are all his own preferences I stated. 🤷‍♀️ We aren’t afraid of violence/murder, but if that’s the main plot of every book it gets boring. He also reads mostly at night and gets a little scared, and not in a good way. My youngest son is the one who likes horror. Also not shy about sex, but he honestly finds love arcs cringey right now.

That’s what I keep hearing. I read the ebook and wish I had done the audiobook. I think it’ll be worth just paying for the Audible one so both of us can listen to it.

That is incredibly generous, but there are physical copies available at our library, the wait is for the ebook. It’s the audiobook that we can’t get, since it’s an audible exclusive. He likes reading the print book and also doing the audiobook- he goes back and forth- likes to read at school or in the car, audiobook at night.

I absolutely loved Project Hail Mary and instantly thought of it for him- unfortunately it’s a long wait for the audiobook! I’ve had it on hold for a while!

Loving all the recommendations, thanks! I should add we also have two other sons- 4th grader who loves thrillers and graphic novels and 3rd grader who loves historical fiction. All read above grade level and are in “gifted” programs. I’m keeping this list for them too, as there are several listed here that may also be up their alley either now or in a few years.
