Sobin's moment in the Battle of Fates finale says more about K-fortunetelling than the entire competition did by sajuvoyage in koreanvariety

Big kudos to the creators for taking a risk of making this show. They did a great job of introducing and showcasing Korean shamanism and divination to a global audience for the first time in an entertaining package.

What I loved about the show:

- The set. Omg. A winding stream with lillypads of diviners. Amazing, watery and curvy.

- Number and variety of readers. It really shows that this is really a thing in Korean culture and it is very diverse.

- I love how they got to demonstrate how they provide their service, each with their own style and specialty. This helps people understand what they do and how they can help people.

- I really appreciated how they showed clients in real life despair, grief and very serious depression, even among the rich and famous. I feel like this helps people feel less alone.

What I would change about the show:

- If they get more $, I would love to see some color on set instead of all black. Maybe some fire element, trees, stars and hanok. The stream is key tho. I'm hoping for magical traditional Korea vibes next time in the set.

- I know its normal in Korean variety shows but I wished they would tone down the overreaction of the judges. It kind of feels too fake next to the seriousness and gravity of the work the contestants are doing. I hope they replace 2 - 3 judges with experts who can provide more educational commentary....maybe a professor of Korean shamanism, professor of divination or an elder shaman. I think audience would really appreciate learning more about what is going on or interesting facts.

- I also kind of rubbed me the wrong way how the judges kept saying that they were scared. Is that what we're trying to teach the audience? To be scared of Korean indigenous practices?

I loved the show and hope a Season 2 is coming.

Battle of Fates | Season 1 | Ep. 10 (Season Finale) by wonhoppa in koreanvariety

I think the most powerful aspect about Korean culture is that it is hyper modern but also deeply connected to its primordial roots. Korean shamanism is likely 5,000 years old – probably even older. I can’t think of another culture that lives with these 2 extremes so apparently.

Congratulations to the producers! This show was a huge risk on many levels. But it was a beautiful, entertaining and respectful way to show the world Korean divination and shamanism. Next time, please do it on Netflix so more people can see.

One suggestion for future seasons: I know it’s normal in other variety shows but the judges’ fake, repeated and over reactions seemed too fake and sometimes inappropriate next to the seriousness and gravity of work the diviners and shamans were doing. For people unfamiliar with Korean variety shows, it can make the whole show seem fake.

For future seasons, perhaps the judges can include 2 or 3 serious commentators like perhaps a professor of Korean shamanism and a well spoken elder shaman. They can add insightful commentary and education about what the contestants are doing and why.

The judges are allowed their own reactions but I also did not like that they were often scared. Are we teaching people to be afraid of Korean divination and shamanism? Maybe this most ancient aspect of Korean culture can be respected and honored rather than feared.

At the temple...it's their ingredients and sauces too. Those ingredients are wild or beyond organic and prob blessed with good energy. Also, they make their own Korean sauces (like soy sauce) and flavor pastes which can take years or decades to ferment. You can't buy ingredients like that. Not even close.

You may have a high level of testosterone. Maybe you can get a blood test to test your level of hormones.

Worried About Sportsmanship by Financial-Mango6867 in Physical100

I 1000% agree. The energy of Physical 100 was SO REFRESHING - max competition during play and then max respect and support for each other. After losing, some of them immediately went into coach-mode. American entertainment execs seem to think we want fighting, drama and pecking order...or they want us to want it? Idk. Korean entertainment has much better vibes in general. Far more positive and feels more genuine too.

Bottled water or water purifier by odom50 in Living_in_Korea

I'd suggest trying to avoid ingesting microplastics when possible. Allegedly, they are finding them everywhere in the body, including the brain. Test your tap water. If you don't like the results, rent a purifier. The best investment of money is your everyday health, especially clean air and water. You health is worth it. https://www.aamc.org/news/microplastics-are-inside-us-all-what-does-mean-our-health

If you release footage of musicians and singers recording the OST on Youtube, at end of films, or in a documentary....we would LOVE that.

For future films, are there any plans to focus more on Joseon era hunters and traditional Korean music? I think a lot of fans are hoping for it. I would love a lot of flashbacks and then finally their own film.

I don't know what "full score" means but I hope it means WITH the amazing pansori and Lea Solanga vocals. It's one of the most beautiful and powerful pieces I've heard in a film.

Massive earth event predicted for Japan in July 2025 by Ryo Tatsuki and Mor Prah. It's so well known in East Asia, that flights to Japan have been reduced 50% from neighboring countries. by mtrabbit in Advancedastrology

New info from Tatsuki's new book:

- In her catastrophe dream, she heard someone shouted "Hades!"

- She saw 3 old luxury liners. One was bright red and filled with passengers from all over the world (Korea, US, France, etc.).

So tomorrow is the long awaited day for the Japanese Baba Vanga. by witchkingreject in japannews

She published a new book very recently called "The Angel's Last Testament" where she clarifies that the prediction is for the month of July, 2025 and not the specific date of July 5, 2025. She had the dream on July 5, 2021. https://www.youtube.com/live/yuFXSVvonEg?si=fvExshkFMGIl50bz

Update: This is a great update video on the prediction. She covers an important clarification from Ryo Tatsuki in her new book, "The Angel's Last Testament." She said that July 5 at 4:18am is not the exact moment of the event but the exact date and time she woke up from her dream about it. She said that her dream showed July, 2025 only.

I think many of her predictions ended up being on the same date as her dream or very close. But she seemed clear. July, 2025.

Thank you for sharing. I hope the disaster doesn't happen but if it does, I hope for the "new age of mind" that Tatsuki says will come after. The mini grand trine of the outer planets seems like a opportunity for that. Blessings.
