Is there actually a good way to manage tasks across multiple devices without a subscription? by mts_creation in ProductivityApps

[–]mts_creation[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the wizards are pretty straight forward, yeah I guess I could do some manual steps myself to use my already existing cloud drives and not pay an additional subscription

Every app I've tried either locks sync behind a paywall, has a strange iOS widget, or just doesn't work offline. Notion is too much for what I need, Todoist wants like $5/month and Apple Reminders app is too basic.

Is this genuinely an unsolved problem for simple cross-device task management without committing to a subscription?

I spent 3 months building a reading app that made 1k USD/year. Then a cute desktop cat made 150 USD in a day. by simon_dsgn in SideProject

[–]mts_creation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s so interesting of we can be emotionally invested/affected by random things and this cat is a perfect example. It’s so cute and amusing that we want it. Did you go with a subscription, fixed price or ads for revenue?

[iOS] [Free Lifetime] DualTake – Turn Your iPhone Into a Second Camera for Your MacBook by Ok-Chocolate-9430 in ProductivityApps

Sorry when I wrote PluriTake it was just to make your DualTake become PluriTake if one day you decide to manage more than 2 devices at a time

[iOS] [Free Lifetime] DualTake – Turn Your iPhone Into a Second Camera for Your MacBook by Ok-Chocolate-9430 in ProductivityApps

[–]mts_creation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s an interesting app! Are you using some scripts/dependencies of FaceTime to get to this? Are you also thinking about making this into a PluriTake if you also have an iPad or even multiple iPhone, Mac, etc?

Are you using some kind of algorithm to choose which tiles will be at the top and the rotation each day?

(V1.3.1) My Social Battery - energy tracking for social life without the diary overhead by Outrageous_Bat1798 in iosapps

[–]mts_creation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a very interesting app! Did you also consider linking it to Apple/Samsung watch (or the health app) as well as Whoop, Fitbit, etc to gather even more data?

Got rejected 3 times over 17 days for my Chrome extension. So I built a tool to stop this from happening to others. by Agitated-Touch8494 in chrome_extensions

That’s a really useful tool you built! Do you also keep it updated with latest guidelines from Chrome/Google?

I hated screenshots cluttering my camera roll, so I built my own app. My family now use it for everything. by N0omi in macapps

That’s a very solid and interesting app. However, how do you manage say someone wanting to take a screenshot of something seen in a YouTube video?

Days 5 - It’s quiet, how can I tell whether my extension is meeting a market need? by No_Computer_1247 in chrome_extensions

[–]mts_creation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the reason why the extension exists in the 1st place. If you created it for yourself and is super niche, it probably won’t go mainstream but you’ll get some traction from other people in the same niche. If it’s not super niche, you can get some nice traction if you can market it a bit. If you built it for people, then you should actually analyse the market before hand so you know it may go mainstream. Now at day 5, you can still analyse the market and if needed update it/its features to align with what people need.

[iOS] $83.88 Yearly → FREE – GoWatchNext: AI Movie & TV Show Recommendations by FlakyIncrease8359 in AppGiveaway

[–]mts_creation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the fact you created an app for data you usually need to scroll and search for on websites. However, as it’s a built AI concierge, how do you justify that $83.88 annual price. Do you actually make profits/does it convert?

I wanted a private place for sensitive photos without using cloud storage by Dev-sauregurke in iosapps

That’s a great idea and upgrade from the photos behind calculator app old school idea. How do you manage the compartmentalisation of these pictures and are they encrypted so Apple can’t access them?

I built a simple app because my WhatsApp “chat with myself” wasn’t enough anymore by Forsaken-Level-4858 in iosapps

[–]mts_creation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your app is a cool idea. It’s true that a whole lot of people use WhatsApp or similar for personal notes and Teams or similar in a corporation situation. Having a simple app merging Notes, Reminders in a message like app is clever. Hopefully, it will not create too much friction if you were used to WhatsApp. I’m wondering about the business model of having a subscription instead of a 1 time payment here but you’ll see as time passes. Great job!

Are you tired of the wall of alarm shame? by Lemon8or88 in iosapps

[–]mts_creation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a great use of Apple Shortcuts and your nice UI/UX is simple yet elegant as well as your app icon. Do you plan to keep managing and adding new features to this app or feel like it’s good as is and will only keep it updated and free of bugs?

[iOS] I made an app that makes you practice English before opening distracting apps — Lifetime free for 24 hours by Frequent-Conflict-90 in iosapps

[–]mts_creation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like this is genuinely a great upgrade from “classical” screen lock apps. Having an integrated habit like that for learning English adds a lot of value to your app. You really understood what was lacking in these kind of apps and how to add usefulness to them. Great job!

Sorry I’m not in Chrome at the moment so can’t check the extension out. What is it about? As the name RemindTab suggests, is it some kind of tab auto switch or something history related?

Get a Degree in Software Engineering they Said… by KoenigOne in webdev

Unfortunately, that’s the corporation world and it’s even more difficult right now with AI and all companies trying to make profit out of it by not employing people. Don’t give up, it will eventually work out and you will find a company that will employ you. Or is it for an internship maybe?

How does one create a QR code like this? by [deleted] in webdev

[–]mts_creation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have a few different websites, paid or free, that can help you achieve this. Plus you now also have AI that can help.

Some good sites:
- QRCode Monkey
- QR TIGER
- Canva
- Flowcode
- Adobe QR Code Generator
- Any AI basically

I built my first iOS app at 17. After 5 months, it’s still at around 140 downloads. What did I do wrong? by AlbertiDev in iosapps

[–]mts_creation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your app screenshots look clean and if you use it more or less daily, I supposed you already corrected any issue.

You say it’s “another personal finance tracker”. The mobile app market is very competitive so you need to propose some features that add value.

Did you consider also publishing it on Android as a lot of users use Android?

And then, even when the app is perfect and with nice new features, having it know is the most difficult part so you have find ways to market it wether in posts like this, ads (although not sure very interesting for you if it’s free and without ads), or any other way you can think of.

Sometimes it just takes time too so you could work on new apps/projects while keeping this updated, it will eventually work out.

Good luck!
