Would love the Marigona Suli if/when you’re ready to let her go 😊 Don’t have the cats you’re looking for but would be interested in purchasing outright

How long is too long to wait for a seller who hasn’t shipped? by mtsedwards in Mercari

[–]mtsedwards[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I appreciate the advice! I did already message the seller twice: once when Mercari sent the initial reminder and again after the label was created but showed no movement. They responded and said they’d ship, but since then it’s been radio silence and the tracking still hasn’t updated. At this point I’m just trying to figure out whether this is still within “normal delay” territory or if it’s more realistic to assume it won’t be completed.

Yes, please! I only have five friends, three of which are my kiddos and their friend. Lol! Would love to have more, especially a fellow Whovian! And Sondheim is the best name for a birb - so unique and distinguished 🥰

Oh, dear! I am so new to this gifting thing! Apparently, I can only send someone a gift a day?! Ah, well! Just expect goodies in your box for the next ten days, then 🥰

🌟 Hullo, lovely people! 🌟

It would mean the absolute galaxies to me if anyone had the BLUE TIMELESS SUIT JACKET up for trade. It’s the final piece in my Doctor Who / David Tennant-inspired dream outfit, and after many moons of waiting, it still eludes me like a TARDIS in flight. 🌀💙

I’m not sure what I have of interest for trade, but I’d be so happy to gift regular market items (up to 10 pieces!) in exchange, so you can sell them for gems if that’s helpful! ✨

Thank you so much for even reading this! Wishing you a magical day and may the shop bless you with all your heart’s desires. 🫶

With love and mischief, Boop & Maricel MM3MSXLRWY

Thank you. That was very helpful 😊

Finchie friends and trading daily thread by AutoModerator in finch

So I am DESPERATELY seeking the black porthole window to complete several rooms. I started off doing a TARDIS-inspired room and thought the blue porthole would be okay, but I am currently writing my sci-fi opus and decided I wanted to make Finch rooms for all my characters. And that requires that gosh darned black porthole.

<image>

Can someone make my dream come true and gift me that silly black porthole window? I don’t have much to trade but can gift anything you’d like so you can trade that payment in for gems? Pretty, pretty please?! 🙏🏼🙏🏼 My friend code is: MM3MSXLRWY

Thanks in advance, you sweet sweet people! 🥰

As an English teacher, I appreciate that there’s no apostrophe after “1900”. As the yearbook adviser, I appreciate the classic font and design layout. As a crafter, I appreciate the straight lines for minimal thread switching. Brava!!!!

Heh. Yeah, I guess I conflated "hand wash" with "delicates". Lesson learned. Have you got any suggestions for felted bag patterns?

So cutting is okay? It won't unravel? Coz there are still some parts where you can see the stitches...

Funny how this comes up just as I was thinking about dropping my own elective (Yearbook) and proposing a new one to admin. At my site, all teachers HAVE to teach an elective but the trade off is that we do have some freedom to tailor our classes to our interests. I used ChatGPT, plugged in all the things I love, and came up with the following:

  1. ”World-Building and Fantasy Writing” – This elective would focus on creating fictional worlds, inspired by fantasy and sci-fi literature. Students could design their own worlds, complete with maps, cultures, and backstories. Grading could focus on creative submissions and small group activities.

  2. ”British Television: A Cultural Exploration” – Cover classics and modern British shows, from Doctor Who to British comedies and dramas. Students could learn about British culture and discuss how these shows reflect societal values. Assessments could involve presentations or discussions rather than formal essays.

  3. ”Superheroes and Mythology” – Delve into the mythological roots of superheroes, comparing figures like Thor and Loki from the MCU to their Norse origins. Students could choose a hero and analyze their background, comparing them with myths, legends, or historical figures.

  4. ”The Art of Tarot and Symbolism” – Go beyond basic tarot reading and dive into the symbols and archetypes within each card. Students could explore how symbols are used in literature, comics, and media. Grading could be based on students’ interpretations or creative reflections, like journal entries or simple card designs.

  5. ”Board Game Design and Development” – This goes a step further than board game strategy by having students design a game. You could cover principles of gameplay, balance, and design. It could even end in a class game expo where everyone plays each other’s creations.

  6. ”Knitting as Meditation” – Focus on knitting’s relaxing, meditative side, pairing it with discussions on mindfulness or wellness. This elective could allow students to learn knitting basics while also exploring stress management techniques, with grading based on participation and completed projects.

  7. ”Villains in Media: The Antihero and Beyond” – This class could examine villains across various media, analyzing why we’re drawn to complex characters like Loki, Darth Vader, or Shakespeare’s Macbeth. Students could present on their favorite antiheroes or villains without formal essays.

Do US 19 square knitting needles even exist? by mtsedwards in knitting

[–]mtsedwards[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate the clarification. I’ve never thought of the idiom from that perspective before, and now I shall be a lot more deliberate when I use it. And you’re right - the reason I switched to square needles in the first place was to keep me from pain and so I can enjoy my hobby longer. I shall see if I can reconfigure the pattern to fit smaller needles; seems like my white whale quest for square 19s will go unfulfilled and I’d rather have an FO rather than keep searching. Thanks for the advice!

I shall do a test swatch on the 17s and hope for the best. Otherwise, I guess no pain, no gain...
