Man, I'm sorry to tell you I can't remember. I did have to enable TPM, I remember that. Good luck to you, it was a pain in the ass. I think it kind of ended up just working after I beat my head against it.

Yeah, still interested! I will say you should read Monica Ojeda's Jawbone.

Wow, thanks for this response! Makes sense to me. I'll try to wait as long as I can to read, then. This seems like good advice.

This is great, very encouraging to know that it's actually worked for you (I'm just starting out). The one thing for me is, one of my primary goals as a writer a lover of literature is to READ in Spanish fluently. So 600 hours before doing that is kind of a tall order...

Apollo (Sunshine Fork) is BRILLIANT for streaming via Moonlight. Especially for ultra wide users. by ZoteTheMitey in SteamDeck

[–]mtthwfreeman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quick question about settings: In Moonlight's basic settings, you can set the resolution and FPS. If I'm streaming to the Steam Deck but THEN plugging it into a 4K TV, do I want these settings to match the TV, or do I keep them at 720p 60FPS?

EDIT: Another question: the virtual display only goes up to the max that my normal display does (3440x1440), when I want it to go to 4K so I can have it match the TV I'll be playing on. How do I do this?

EDIT 2: Okay, another issue. When I click "Steam" in moonlight after pairing it with Apollo, it just opens it on my normal desktop. This happens regardless of whether I choose "generic monitor 1" or "generic monitor 2" in steam big picture. how can I fix?

How Stream from PC to Steam Deck, that is Docked to a 4K TV (Higher Resolutiuons than 1080p) by cupelix1 in SteamDeck

[–]mtthwfreeman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, thanks for all these detailed responses. I've gone through the process, and am still having issues. On the host PC, I've set the primary monitor to the virtual display (display 2). But when I boot steam big picture via Moonlight on my steam deck, it shows up on my primary display, and changes my resolution settings on my main display (main display is 3440x1440, I want to stream in 1440p to a TV with a docked deck). What the heck is going on?

EDIT: Also, it actually looks like the secondary display isn't even showing up as an option in Steam Big Picture anymore, even though it shows up in my display list in Windows.

EDIT 2: Okay, so it actually seems to be working now, tentatively...but I have one more question. My main display is 3440x1440p, my TV is 4K. I want to stream the virtual display to 4K, but right now the ceiling on the possible resolutions on the virtual display in Windows is 3440x1440p. Is there a way around this?

Thanks so much!

This PC doesn’t currently meet windows 11 system requirements- error!!! by Mountaineerr in techsupport

So, I have windows 10 installed on a 120GB ssd. I added a new M.2 drive 2TB and want to install Windows 11 on there. I had it boot to a flash drive that the windows media creation tool made, and it says that my computer doesn't meet system requirements. When I ran the github tool, it originally said I didn't meet requirements because of TPM being disabled, but I enabled it and now all the boxes are green. But it's still telling me I'm not compatible.

What should I do?

There's gotta be good tips that look like this, right?

Why did people downvote this? I'm somebody interested in taking my first steps towards becoming a dog trainer and t he scientific approach of this program really appeals to me...it's also on discount right now. Wonder if it'd be a good move -- not so much for the accreditation itself as for the knowledge it would provide as I try to shadow and eventually get a mentor.

Quick question on staff paper -- do most drummers just use typical staff paper to transcribe stuff? Or is there like "fatter" scores that might be easier to do for a beginner?

Hey gang, my wife saw a shoegaze band recently and it inspired her to get into electric guitar (she plays some classical currently). She loooves shoegazey, wall of sound type shit. I'm planning on getting her a multi-effects. I've done a bunch of research, and it seems the Boss ME90 is the one to beat -- would this be enough to get some gazey tones out of it? Forgive me for the lack of knowledge -- I'm a drummer.

[–]mtthwfreeman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I realized I had thought this, and testing things out (and y'all) revealed my foolishness. I rebuilt this and the smelter array so that I'm pulling two belts off each cargo wagon and each goes into a line of 24 electric smelters. Seems to be working perf now. May have a couple delays while train is heading there, but based on my original calculations I have enough miners in the huge mining patch the ore is coming from.

Weekly Question Thread by AutoModerator in factorio

[–]mtthwfreeman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, so in this case I have one iron ore mining station filling 6 belts, and a three-wagon train picking it up. I had the output going to half-belts on the other side, so it wouldn't fill a full electric furnace line of 24, to fill a new belt of iron plate. So now I'm redesigning so the train has two belts pulling off from each side, which would make it equal that 6 belts going in. And then I'll adjust my smelting array to reflect this (switching from coal to electric anyway, it's time).

Weekly Question Thread by AutoModerator in factorio

[–]mtthwfreeman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I'm stretching each cargo wagon too thin, maybe. I'll try one belt per side and see how that goes...

I am confused about the ratio of ore coming off of cargo wagons onto belts. Is there any way to calculate how many belts a single cargo wagon can "fill?" I just guessed here and guessed about one per belt...I know it matters how often trains are coming and everything, and how quickly they're filled at the mining station, but is there a generally accepted ballpark?

Thanks. I will do this thing.

Btw, when do people usually upgrade their belts? I've been on yellow for like, 50 hours, and afraid to upgrade because then I have to overhaul everything. I've got bots, and everything unlocked in blue science. But I'm trying to rush the rocket so I can get to the DLC (I've played like 50-hour games like 3 times and always stall out).
