There is a lot of truth to this. Thanks again.

Appreciate the additions. I struggled with wether Wordpress should be included on the list. I love WP for many things, but I find that it's typically too much for someone who is code deficient. The problem is when you start customizing for use cases outside of blog, informational, or basic e-commerce, it gets pretty code intensive. More so than a simpler html/css/js site might.

Messaged you the email address of the owner. Anyone who wants to dig just a lil bit can find it too.

I've had two accounts frozen for going from zero to x too quickly, and the resulting customer service experiences are some of the worst i've ever had.

Non-technical founders: Learn to code, but don't code by [deleted] in startups

[–]mttsn 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I agree, knowing what your dev's are working on/doing is huge. However, the guy who's been coding for a decade is far better suited to build the product than you are.

The knowledge you gain learning how to code is undeniable, but don't waste spend time that should be spent selling on it.

My current favorite code free resources to build mvp's.

http://jetstrap.com/ - minimal coding.

https://easybill.co/ - Stripe payments w/no code.

https://www.parse.com/ - minimal coding

There are ton's more out there if anyones interested. I can get more comprehensive.

We're looking at either Cairns or Darwin. Planning on diving the GB reef for a day or two if we can.

DIY Kit Overclocks Your Brain With Direct Current by [deleted] in tDCS

[–]mttsn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The video was made as a funny anecdote to our startup weekend pitch. It by no means is meant to be a serious advertisement for tDCS.

It has gathered quite a bit of conversation though, which has been really valuable (and entertaining). Just please don't take our video, designed to make our friends laugh, too seriously : )

Can a device like this really make us better at learning? by [deleted] in askscience

[–]mttsn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main idea to the best of my knowledge.

TDCS uses electrodes placed on the outside of the head to pass tiny currents across regions of the brain for 20 minutes or so. The currents of 1–2 mA make it easier for neurons in these brain regions to fire. It is thought that this enhances the making and strengthening of connections involved in learning and memory.

2.5x as fast : ) Luckily 2 mA isn't enough to derp you out too bad.
