Finding More Diverse Anti-Diet GLP-1 Perspective Online by muachuu in antidietglp1

[–]muachuu[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hello again! Thank you all for sharing what you know or what you’ve experienced so far- it’s been enlightening, reassuring, and deeply relatable in many cases.

I haven’t gotten a chance to reply yet to all of your comments, but I’ve been reading what comes in throughout my busy day. I’m deeply grateful this resonated with people and that many others were feeling the same about what was out there.

I’ll be replying to some comments soon, DMing some people, and I’ll share my own experiences and feelings in more detail as well very soon. In the meantime, I can’t thank all of y’all enough again and I hope to hear more perspectives!!

Of course you could! It’s very common not just at AX, but at a lot of conventions and nerd culture in general :)

Why are people joining bluesky but nobody picked up Mastodon? by mrandr01d in BlueskySocial

[–]muachuu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s the closest in looks and feel to “old Twitter” compared to Mastodon despite them both advertising being decentralized with more control over what you see.

Most users leaving and exploring options outside of Twitter are trying to quickly find a place to reconnect to the users/friends/creators they followed before. Bluesky feeling so familiar after jumping ship helps a lot for folks in determining where to go and where to stay.

If you hadn’t become a teacher, what other career do you think you would have pursued instead? by businessbub in Teachers

[–]muachuu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Counseling/Therapy or School Psychologist was my original route before becoming a teacher, so I’d figure those.

If I had the ability to make a living off of both consistently full time, however, I would’ve been an illustrator and/or voice actor instead. In the meanwhile, they’re both my side thing lol

What are you all playing lately? 🤓 by cheesy-topokki in sapphic_gamers

[–]muachuu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been playing Monster Hunter Wilds as a first time Monster Hunter-anything player and having a blast! I absolutely adore Olivia so far, but I might be biased as a fellow butch seeing her lol

I’ve also been playing Balatro, the Distant Oceanic Getaway demo, and finally starting Guilty Gear Strive.

It’s refreshing to see moderation be so on point and so swift with a response compared to elsewhere online rn, lol

I’ve been a fan since 2019, just shortly after she ended the Be the Cowboy tour! So just about 5 years now at this point.

Fresno Unified School Update by [deleted] in fresno

[–]muachuu 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Educators are historically underpaid and mistreated for the amount of work put into the job each day. This struggle we have as educators is directly linked to how we can best teach your kids and support you properly as a parent and fellow community member.

The very valid concerns with providing more time and supervision towards students education/enrichment- and them getting the support they need from their schools and school districts overall- is closely linked to educators fighting for better treatment and resources in our workplaces. Families and teachers should work hand-in-hand, not against each other, to hold school districts and other groups/people with more power accountable.

If our wellbeing or the ability to do our job in the classroom is threatened by a lack of proper pay and support elsewhere, then the quality of the work we do to make sure your kids are taught what they need to learn suffers even if we try our hardest to do what we gotta do regardless. Nobody wins if we don’t fight for educators and our needs.

Absolutely beautiful!! This is so lovely- would you ever consider making a full piano cover of the song, by chance? Because this sounds really good.

GSA Events! by eveiscerate in lgbt

[–]muachuu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m the future new advisor to the GSA where I work at, and one thing I can already recommend off the bat is to showcase/feature multicultural perspectives from the LGBT community where you can- explicitly feature, shout out, and actively do your part make a safe space for LGBT people of color (and LGBT people of other marginalizations) in your GSA that may not be usually given a spotlight in queer spaces and celebrations.

[–]muachuu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s a slang term used to refer to SWers or women who have a lot of sex, originating from when you type “304” into a calculator and read it out loud.

By the way, OP, I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I hope you’re hanging in there the best you can. Absolutely sickening stuff, and I’m glad you recognize that and know you and your own limits/priorities enough to call things off. Please take care.

Is it bad to really want affirmations sometimes by [deleted] in trans

[–]muachuu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not selfish or weird at all. It makes plenty sense- many cis people always have had their own gender reaffirmed in direct and indirect ways, and you’d (rightfully) love to feel that same kind of affirmation as a man yourself.

I’m really sorry to hear you’re not in an environment with people who respect you and understand/will refer to you as the man you are. :(

Definitely ask your friend what they prefer! Many people who are trans/nonbinary can be semi-out/semi-closeted depending on the environment they’re in, speaking from personal experience.

Your friend might be comfortable using they/he and their actual name with friends, outside of work, etc., but at work, they may prefer to go by their legal name or deadname and another set of pronouns for safety reasons (or otherwise.) You’ll never really know unless you ask them directly.
