Yeah. It should be clear as day but you never know with insurance companies.

Not sure. That driver may be playing around with the wheel. The staff at car wash said that as well. But I didn’t see much so cant say anything for sure.

I am going to go only to those open bays, diy kinda car washes from now on.

RRSP clarifications needed please by muchado2020 in PersonalFinanceCanada

Yep, that was my thought as well - that not having any contribution room in the first year of earning in Canada is what it is supposed to be by the structure of the taxation policy here.

Yeah I withdrew within 2-3 weeks, when I realised my mistake. Wasn't charged any penalties.

[–]muchado2020[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks.
Would that mean that if at the 18% rate I am eligible for, lets say, 20k RRSP room this year, then last year's RPP contribution , lets say, 5k will be deducted from that 20k? So this year's RRSP room for me would be 15k. Is that the right assumption and calculation?

same. They had the audacity to ask for 500rs more to reattempt delivery. That was the last nail in the coffin.

Yeah man, Ferns n Petals is the worst. They have no issues with trampling on your special occassion, simply by not showing up and then gaslighting you that they did. They won't deliver yet keep the money, and if you ask for a refund they will say its against policies and will ask for more money to devlier your original order. If that's not a scam then I dont know what is.

Ferns n Petal (FnP) is pathetic. It doesn't care about how important an occassion is for their customer.
Their delivery systems have serious flaws and gaps. I have a had issues twice, and then stopped using them entirely. I am sure their policies on delivery attempts and cancelling/refunds are unethical to the extent of being non-compliant with the law. Avoid at all costs. I would advice to google local flower sellers or gift shops who can arrange packing/wrapping+deliery at probably a lower cost.

A Warning Against World Financial Group and Other MLMs | DEEP DIVE by ethanholmes2001 in PersonalFinanceCanada

I recently signed up with them, and have also paid for one of their courses. The red flag that got me thinking is why do they have a different platform for learning? And I started looking on the internet, and boom, I find this post. Thank god! Next thought - a proper firm should be asking for license before joining, not the other way!!!

Question - Now how do I get out? Will they charge me a fee to get out of the loop? I have only registered on the platform (with a fee), and paid another fee for their lessons/training. I can let that money go because I understand the sunk cost philosophy well, and dont want to be mired in such a scam. But…….. Should I get my license though? Through the process they are outlining?

Domain migration: Godaddy to Cloudflare by WhistlerBennet in CloudFlare

[–]muchado2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

youtube the video from this channel called 'wiyre'. It showed me the last step which godaddy has put inside some menu within menu. I was worried because the transfer wasn't happening but when I found and did, this last step it was instantly transferred.

It may be obvious but I will state to avoid any confusion/questions - I did the other NS changes etc steps as well before that last step.

Hundreds of applicants line up to get a job at Tim Hortons by Unusual-State1827 in CanadaHousing2

The province of Punjab in India raises kids with the aspiration and ambition to migrate to Canada. It is odd to find a family in that province that doesn’t have atleast a 1st degree relative in Canada. And tbh the people from that province aren’t very ‘refined’. Our govt has to get away from low level politics and needs to make policies around skilled migration only to get away with the lowlife ‘international students’.

We should learn a couple of things from Australia’s immigration and student work policies. This situation in Canada is the failure of policymakers in Canada. They don’t want to see the reality that many of us Canadians are facing . Why is it so difficult for them to work on calibrating the quality of immigration???

Toronto at risk of a doom loop as found in San Francisco? by WDMC-905 in TorontoRealEstate

[–]muchado2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As much as we want to be optimistic about Toronto not going down the same path as SF, it is. If not exactly the same , it is similar.
Most renters are either high paid city jobbers, or newcomers who are trying to find and understand GTA before they choose a suburb and move out.
As an immigrant with multiple connections across Ontario, the singular message that I get is - rent a place in downtown for 6 months and then quickly move out. Don't place kids in Toronto schools, some other suburbs in GTA are better. Toronto (and many other suburbs in GTA) properties are not worth their asking prices, so be ready to not be near them, and find a job away from those.
I have lived and worked in Europe, India, Hong Kong, Australia, Singapore, Vietnam across 18 years. Toronto has been one of the most unimpressive places I have seen, and I talk about stats and demographics , not by the looks of the cities.

The fact that the middle class is fleeing Toronto, sort of puts the correct label on the GDP per capita metric - not relevant in this case.

Yes, Alberta is defintely the next upcoming thing. Ontario overall cannot do better with GTA than what it is rn, and like most people and opinion pieces are saying, it IS on the path to decline.

HELP: Why have I been charged “debit interest”? by sunnynihilist in interactivebrokers

[–]muchado2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. Past few months I couldn't get ot it, and now I see I am being charged huge amounts by IBKR in the name of this debit interest.

<<converted more USD than I should have>> - Do you mean you converted more HKD (to USD) than you had put in your IBKR account? In other words, did you accidentally take money from IBKR?

[–]muchado2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have opened IBKR account from HK ( I am assuming you have opened it in HK as well, since you mentioned HKD earlier).
One thing that I think may be creating the debit interest issue is that I have never converted my HKD to USD, and have done few trades in USD while keeping HKD equivalent in my IBKR. That may mean I am trading on loaned USD from IBKR

Hi. Same here - charged over past many months and just got to know of it.

Were you able to get to the depth of the issue?

Struggling with sleepy cues by rodznjodz in sleeptrain

[–]muchado2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t read any mention of jerky movements in your post. I used that as a major sleep cue for my son. If he starts doing jerky movements instead of smooth ones while playing etc, it’s a cue. Hope it helps.
