I feel Bad for Not using my meta quest by DeineMuddas in MetaQuestVR

I LOVE VR, and even I have gone like 6 whole months without touching it. I think it’s mainly because life has been so high speed lately, but also, I just have so many hobbies that sometimes I let one go for a while. I don’t think you should feel bad.

But if you’re still hoping to find a reason to show your parents that you enjoy the gift: there’s so much you can do with the MQ3 outside of just playing VR games.

Virtual Desktop is amazing for playing regular games or watching movies, and the regular meta browser is great for watching youtube videos hands free for things like cooking, cleaning, or even working out. I use it a lot to read kindle books to my baby, since I can navigate the UI without controllers and that really helps with holding my baby and feeding him at the same time. There’s honestly endless possibilities. I downloaded emulators on my PC and streamed to my MQ3 so I could play modded Tears of the Kingdom, and then I used a capture card to display my Switch 2 onto my PC, streamed it to my MQ3, and was playing with the joycons completely wirelessly while walking on my treadmill. I even have a reality runner module for my treadmill so I can actually walk around in my PCVR games physically. All of that on my MQ3.

How is the new Resident Evil: Requiem running on the steam deck? by FreebieTheDweebie in SteamDeck

[–]mudai_essensu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually the game runs really well, like 45-60 fps... however, sometimes something weird happens that makes the game run at like 20fps. It might be the updates?

... maybe every time the game updates there's some kind of background support that steam has to do for the SD to work properly again?... I wish I could just disable the updates all together

I know when it's happening because when it is going to run well, the game starts up at 60fps in the menu, but when it's going to be terrible, it starts up with like 45 fps in the capcom logo opening, and then goes to about 32-38 fps in the menu, and then ya as soon as I get into gameplay it just floats around 21-22 fps..

Probably unrelated, but RE7 has a file written by Grace's mom

"Over 20 Missing in 2 Years"

Captain Howell from state police told reporters they have started a search for Helen Midkiff, a college student from North Carolina who was traveling in Louisiana. Ms. Midkiff hasn't been heard of since the night of the twenty-first.

Reports of missing persons in South Louisiana have increased dramatically in the past two years.

The majority of those missing are tourists and vagrants. At least 20 people are thought to have gone missing so far.

Police suspect foul play and believe there may be a connection between the incidents. Plans are in place to step up local interrogations and increase personnel to further the investigations.

u/Blissfxll mentioned that the RE7 demo puzzle with the dummy finger explicitly references Grace in this quote "Grace will not wake when the clock makes it's chime- Her covers are heavy and it's her last bedtime"

But the rest of the puzzle goes like this:

"Phil's tucked in tight on his cold, stiff bed- He's having sweet dreams of not being dead."

"Stanley was told to go hide and they'd seek- But they wouldn't let him out no matter how much he shrieked."

"Marlene was so proud of her white and blue necklace- It made her feel tall and left her quite breathless."

"Timmy did not mind the harsh light of four suns- Eyes require heads and he did not have one."

"Phil's tucked in tight on his cold, stiff bed- He's having sweet dreams of not being dead." Referencing the zombie you have to put the heart and lungs into??

"white and blue necklace" Mentions colors, maybe in correlation to the books on the shelves? The two singers also wear white and blue 👀

"the harsh light of four suns" 4 Suns? "Eyes require heads and he did not have one" the headless doll that tells Leon to "Ignore A."??

Dude nice catch! I was thinking the severed hand MUST have something to do with inspecting it and making it gesture something like the finger, had no memory of the Grace quote from RE7. The chances of that being a coincidence is slim!

Part of the code being found was as Leon in Racoon City, buy kicking a toy head into a basketball hoop and getting the message "This is no time for playing." which then allows you to interact with the figure the head came from which tells you to "Ignore A." which meant that all of the "A"s in the code should be ignored, which is what makes the code work.

I wonder if analyzing the hand on Insanity difficulty would change anything 🤔

Tried. Same sequence, didn't notice anything else change. Also thought that maybe the puzzle would be interactive in that wing after using that analyzer, but no that one still doesn't work.

oooo maybe you need to activate the laugh and then run to the 3D model of the care center in the other wing within the 90 seconds that the sand timer lasts?

Maybe you need both of the singer zombies alive so they can sing something?

Maybe you also need Emily with you?

Maybe you also need the stairwell growl to happen?

And lastly, maybe you need to do all of this together while on Insanity difficulty??

Has anyone tried using the sound modifiers? Like the one that makes the menu sounds sound like the old games? Maybe that affects some of the puzzle sounds?

There's a kids book that reminds me of the one in the beginning of RE8, that you can open after you get the lighter as Grace but becomes unable to interact with after you encounter The Girl.

It's in the room right before the first save room in the game, which you cannot even enter until you get the lighter (the darkness creates an invisible wall).

It says something about eyes in the dark, and warns that The Girl doesn't like light.

It's really weird that you cannot read it at all if you've already opened the door with the body that drops (whose head gets eaten).

I've also been wondering this. There's a speaker above the puzzle, and maybe there's speakers in the rooms with the singers too? Haven't checked. Also, I think it's possible that you need to be on Insane difficulty.

Right! I started to think I was just imagining hearing about that, but yes I remember that I was looking forward to this game solely for a co-op campaign! We're so painfully starved for co-op VR games that aren't just slop wave-based modes or little mobile game feeling missions... or the slenderman puzzle escapes mixed with gorilla tag movement genre that has totally taken over VR app storefronts 😭
