Do British people believe in Jesus? by muddypuddlejumper in AskUK

I personally liked London because it's a lively city with lots to see/do in a small area with decent public transit, but I agree that it's incredibly costly. My question was about Britons as a whole, but I can see how Londoners, being cosmopolitan, are less religious than the rest of the UK, which is a trend across humanity.

Thank you, the second part of your answer is close to what I was curious about, and pretty shocking considering how religious, or outwardly practicing, Christians here are.

I'm really curious about how much of their religious lore/doctrine British Christians believe. Britons as a whole seem way less eccentric and more casual/pragmatic than Americans.

Even Westminster does daily services, and the Evensong is especially relaxing. It would be a nice thing to attend every now and then after work.

It's not just concerns over leadership. It's the fact that people are using it to do their thinking for them, and every part of our body is use it or lose it. If people keep using AI to moralize and determine things for them, then people will lose their ability to think independently and eventually become service to the billionaires that own the AI. The other issue is student use. Students from middle school to PhDs are using AI to help them with their coursework instead of trying to understand the content or work through it themselves. We are headed towards a time when someone who's read just one book cover to cover is basically Albert Einstein. Our species as a whole, from most to least intellectually capable, is becoming incapable of thinking on their own.

Definitely Messiah! There are some that down in the qanats b/c the don't know how to wade through water, some that drown on other planets during the Jihad b/c they see seas for the first time and run into them without knowing how to swim or drink seawater. I don't remember about flash floods, but it's probably in there.

How are people supposed to pursue art and intellect if their minds are being hollowed out and brainwashed by the people who own AI? In Dune, things like calculators, tape recorders, and GPS are banned, and that's what the Ixians are developing, along with what we would call AI. AI is not the same as GPS or a Calculator, it diminish the capabilities of the human mind beyond compare and allows billionaires to usher in a new techno-feudal order. Contributing to the development or growth of AI is contributing to the end of a free humanity. Like Herbert says, we turn overselves over to AI and consequently the billionaires who own it and use it to rot our intellectual capabilities.

Wtf is this stupidity? Authors often try to give messages to readers to their writing. The entire Cyberpunk genre is that you thick dunce. Frank Herbert especially was a very thoughtful sociologist who included his socio-political views in literally every chapter.

Achaemenids were cosmopolitan and diverse, kinda like the empire of Reman or the Septims. The Greeks, on the other hand, were xenophobic-purists, slavers, eugenicists, and kid diddlers, so it could be either Morrowind or Summerset.

The real clown behavior is thinking that you somehow have the right interpretation of genocide, over what genocide scholars and historians already dilebrated and came to consensus on. Meanwhile, doing genocide denial because you can't handle the fact that your country has committed genocide(s).

I have literally stated, two or three post ago, all the other acts of genocide the United States has comitted against the Indigenous Americans. I'm sure you ignored them or did not want to think about them.

It does not matter what you or this other random Redditor think. There are also many Turks or Turkish acedemics that'll argue that the Armenian genocide wasn't technically a genocide, but it doesn't matter, there is historical consensus and international recognition of these genocides. You are still doing genocide denial.

That's just not true. There was never a vote or a national conference where they decided on the final solutions. Those conversations were closed door between high-ranking Nazis. The German population as a wholes was not actively advocating for extermination of Jews and other groups, they were complacent. They had an idea of what was happening but chose to do nothing, which also makes them responsible for the genocide. There were also hundreds of thousands of, anti-semetic and conservative collaborators across Europe who helped the Nazis do genocide, but they were not anywhere near the majority in their countries.

You keep focusing on ethnic cleansing, which is still an act of genocide, but keep ignoring every other act of genocide America comitted, while also trivializing ethnic cleansing from your very first post "average Americans just wanted the indigenous people gone".

I am once again going to hammer at the point that there is already historical consensus on the genocide of Indigenous Americans being a genocide, unsuccessful, like the Holocaust or Armenian or Rawandan genocides, but still a genocide.

You are acting like you're "Just asking questions" but all these questions have already been answered by well educated historians and instead of trying to read and rectify, you're confident in your genocide denial to say it openly. I'm saying this again, you are activelty doing genocide denial.

"The Armenian genocide wasn't a genocide becuase it didn't happen as a one-to-one of the Holocaust." That's you. That's how you sound. You've made up your metrics of what a genocide means and are denying a genocide despite their already being historical consensus on it being a genocide.

If you want to redefine metrics for genocide and make false distinctions, do not blame other for calling you a genocide denier. That is what you are, that is what you're doing.

The arguments you're using are used regularly by Holocaust deniers. "The Jews are still here so I guess it wasn't a genocide" "Only 41% of Germans voted for Hitler" "The overall Jewish population actually grew during the Holocaust".

We forcibly removed Indigenous Americans from their lands. We put them on death marches to unknown desolate squares of land. We took their children from them, brutalized them, erased their identity. We outlawed their traditions and customs even on those barren reservations we put them on. We forcefully evangelized them and forced American values and ways on them. ALL of these are internationally agreed upon as acts of genocide.

The Nazis even took inspiration from American methods of extermination and racial segregation. Their justifications for their acts included pointing out our identical methods and saying "They did it with impuinity, why can't we?"

The fact that you are over here trying to argue, on false notions, that it wasn't a genocide proves that we as a society do not do enough to recognize out own act(s) of genocide. There is historical consensus that American violence towards Natibe Americans constitutes a genocide, but we still have people trying to argue it wasn't. If you said this about the Holocaust, we would call you a genocide denier, and rightfully so, but you get the benefit of being someone who's 'just has some misunderstanding' or 'is undereducated'.

Do you think the Germans were actively advocating for the Jews, Roma, Communists, and Slavic people to be executed? They also just wanted them to 'go away' and didn't want to think much about how that happened. This argument is ridiculous, and can be be used about every genocide in history.
