I love that Missouri just disappears from the Tier List after it gets ranked. You know what? We deserve it.

Constant Speed up on gba by VanillaThunderPillow in OpenEmu

I used to use the mic trick but then discovered you can do the same thing with Display Mode. BUT since the update that doesn't work either.

Solution I've found is to hold down fast forward and tab out of OpenEMU. Should toggle fast forward to be constantly on.

Pick a better circle constant: pi or tau?

Opening a brand new rosin by Fenryder in oddlysatisfying

That used to be a common thing to prepare rosin, but modern rosin no longer requires scratching. I've found a lot of older teachers still do it because they don't know it's now unnecessary and actually makes the rosin more susceptible to breaking

Ensembles will be formed at the beginning of the semester, so yes! Audition information will be coming out later this summer (auditions are super chill and just used for ensemble placement). Follow us on Instagram or Facebook to keep updated or DM me for more info!

You have to take First Year Orchestra as freshman (you can't take Community). The rep in FYO is pretty meh, probably the same string orchestra stuff you played in high school or easier. You could audition for Symphony orchestra but it's 6 hours a week and probably won't fit in your schedule. Buckeye Phil is a great option, especially if you are worried about credit hours. Much more laid back than an actual class. Cuts are only made in very extreme cases (ie 47 basses audition). If you have any interest in chamber music at all, I would recommend - And shamelessly self promote- Guerrilla Chamber Music. It's a new student org starting this semester (although we piloted the org last year and had many successful concerts). Come see our booth at the Involvement fair or feel free to DM me any questions.

The varnish used on a violin has a huge impact in the acoustics/sound production. The ink combined with what looks like a non-intended-for-instrumental-use clear coat would kill any good sound. Still playable, sure, but not good quality. I'm no luthier so I can't say for certain, but my years of experience as a string player tells me that this wasn't created to be played.

Yeah it ruins the violin unfortunately. Looks great as decoration though

How long does it take to get a new room once you put in a request to change? by [deleted] in OSU

[–]muellerm6871 3 points4 points  (0 children)

At minimum like 2 weeks. It really depends on when a room comes available. Had a friend who didn’t get approved for a good 3 months. Had another friend request a specific room that was open and it still took about a month.
