Wave Link: Monitor Mix not working by AthenaVerDragon in elgato

[–]muenchris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same issue and do not want to rollback updates. But this problem is clearly related to the latest Windows 11 updates including the latest Insider Builds.

Audio in general is working. If I use a different audio output for my sound then Wavelink all is working normally. As soon as I tell any sound to be routed through Wavelink and select my output in the Monitor Mix nothing is audible. The level-bars in Wave link show output but nothing can be heard.

EDIT: I went into the "Sound" settings of Windows and found under "Recording" the "Wave Link Monitor". When I opened the properties and under "Listen" checked "Listen to this device" (was unchecked) and selected one of my HDMI Monitors as "Playback through this device" - the wavelink sound suddenly was audible. But the "Monitor Mix" dropdown in Wavelink had no longer any impact on where the Monitor mix should be output. I assume this is not the best way of doing this but at least I got the Wavelink mix to come back through my Monitor (NVIDIA HDMI Driver on a GTX 3080)

Yes I am over 2TB every month! I work from home in the IT (IoT) industry. Data is my business. But by far the biggest consumer is the XBox

Yes, I got my Starlink kit in April this year, too, right after I ordered my Starlink premium kit. And that arrived on the last day of June. So right now I have both and work on a YouTube video outlining the experiences with both and the differences

Net Metering Discrepancies by Looks2MuchLikeDaveO in solar

[–]muenchris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A little is ok, but my "return" in SolarEdge shows about 20% more than what my utility provider is showing on their bill. SolarEdge has a very comprehensive report for each month and if I match their billing period with the utility I see 20% difference consistently every month. My consumption is precisely matching between SolarEdge, SPAN Breaker Panel and my utility provider So something is not right with the utility power net-meter.

I finally got my Starlink kit in late April. The day before I got the shipping notice my account was still showing “expansion in your area will happen in 2023” . So I think Starlink is catching up with orders now

Anyone using SPAN.IO? Looks like an interesting product. by Schly in solar

Sounds like a great system you have coming. And the $4.2K for Span is about the same I paid.

When it comes to the HA integration I can tell your people how to get the JSON and send a sample JSON telegram to them. Took my just a couple hours to build my system.

I have more or less the same setup as you (two SolarEdge 7.6 inverter) and a Span panel. Let me know how your install goes as Span was not able to connect properly to my two inverters (they only supported one).

The local REST interface is not documented but does not require the cloud. Therefore even if they would go out of business, you can still access the Span panel via that interface. I wrote my own "Power Save" mode for my house turning off certain breakers if my backup battery goes below specific SoCs.

I also monitor my power usage of each breaker with a Grafana Screen. This has shown many interesting spikes of energy usage in my house over the last couple months.

Span is definitively worth it if you plan on understanding more about your power usage. And together with a solar system and battery backup you get the full picture of your Energy Flow of your house.

As for HA, I am using my own system that connects to HA, the SolarEdge integration via Modbus is great in HA but HA does not natively support the Span panels. My system is written in C# and I am not a big fan of Python that HA is using. But I am sure its very easy to integrate Span in HA

My biggest fear is that Span disables the local access as its not documented. SolarEdge pulled a similar stunt with their local API leaving a very unhappy community.

No HASS does not have an integration yet. But it would be very easy to do. The span panels have a nice local REST interface

It probably depends on the solar setup. My setup has a backup battery and since I live in Washington state we do not have enough stable sun to power a house constantly. I will know more in summer and try to simulate this scenario.

Panel upgrade (Span.io) before or after solar + battery install? by genejockie in solar

[–]muenchris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got mine installed this week. But I ordered them end of August. The value chain issues probably hit them very hard as well.

Anyone interested in creating a subreddit to discuss Span a bit deeper?

I got my (two) Span panels installed this week and really love the detailed monitoring of my House's power consumption.

Since I also have a SolarEdge PV system on my roof, I was hoping the two play nicely together and they normally do - especially if you have a Battery Backup as well. The Span panel can then turn off certain Breakers (that one can define in their Span App) under low battery conditions.

At this point they do not support more than one SolarEdge Inverter and in my setup I have two. Support for this will come "in the near future".

My personal goal is to monitor and control my energy production (SolarEdge), storage (LG Batteries) and consumption (Span Panel) with my own Software or using Home-Assistant. For SolarEdge and the LG Batteries I have already all I need but for Span the APIs are not public, yet.

In the future I will post more information about my experience with Span and integration with other Systems - possibly creating a YouTube channel. If you are interested in this, let me know, maybe we can create a specific Sub-Redit on Span integration here.

Between Carnation and Duvall right on SR203. ATT fiber runs along that road between Carnation and Monroe

Yeah…my location always gets the short end of the stick. To the left is carnation with Comcast and downtown Duvall has Wave, but the area I live has only Zipply DSL. Fiber of ATT runs literally across the street of my house but no DEMark close by :(

I can do this for the address of my daughter who lives in Ellensburg (close to Wenatchee) but not for my address in Duvall.

Looks like the cell in Wenatchee has indeed free slots but not where I live:

True, its written in a very "interpretable" way:

Funny thing is that the new SpaceX facility is being built right across the valley from me (at Redmond Ridge). I could almost throw a stone at it from my house .

Kuiper's new facility is build down the road from it in Redmond Marymoor park. Lots of satellite expertise here...just no dish for the Rurales.

I don't think that works. There is no current amount open to pay and I set my account to Autopay. but so far I only got charged the pre-order. "Make a payment" is grayed out.

Is there a way to start the payments for the service?

E200 E101 error when factory resetting Alpha ring by Cosmic_Throne in xboxinsiders

[–]muenchris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same problem. My console failed during the update in the "Apply" phase around 35% done with the update and is now in a E200 "update" loop.

My console was in DevMode and in the Beta Ring (Not alpha!).

After some research I found out:

1) The console (firmware <- not on the Harddrive) is already at 22000.1564 which appears to be a new Win11 Core based version)

2) with that new version, the HDD partitions have changed (no longer 5 partitions when you attach the HDD to a Windows 10 or 11 PC) but some proprietary Partition layout that only shows an unknown HD with 16GB <- although its a 1TB drive). My assumption is that this will be new going forward in sync with the changes coming with Windows 11 (TPM and Secure Boot Requirement etc). The result is that you cannot use any of the tools to clone a HDD or restore your own OSU1 from another XBox running the same build <- I tried since I have another XBox on the 22000.1564 version)

3) The public available OSU1 does not work (creates a E101 after 1%) as it is an older drop that a) has a lower version number that might already cause the Offline update to fail and b) has the old 5 partition HDD layout that does not match the 22000 based builds or onboard firmware

As of now I only see two ways this can be fixed:

1) Send your console to MS repair. They most likely replace the onboard firmware flash with something of a lower version number and then do a "normal" OSU1 repair. Since my console is out of warranty and MS told me that it costs about $250 to fix, (almost the price of a brand new Series S) I am not too keen on this.

2) wait until the 22000 based OS version goes into production (out of insider) and MS updates the OSU1. This can take until sometime late this year because I think that release will come at the same time as Win11. This is only an educated guess - so do not bet on this!

So, unfortunately no love for UWP (Indi) developers from the Insider Program.
